Male waxing

Ok.... I have been curious on waxing versus shaving for awhile. Do guys have to go to special people than girls to get a wax job? Are there any particular questions I should ask when calling around to find a place to go? Does anyone recommend anywhere close to the Baton Rouge area for this? I am tired of shaving and the ingrown hairs....

You can use google to try to look up places by you and see if they offer male services. Other than that, just try calling around and ask. It worked for me.

RE: Male waxing

I was willing to go to either a male or female esthetician. My problem was finding a local esthetician, all being female, in my area that was willing to do a Brazilian wax on a man. I kept researching and found an RN south of me about 45 mins that was not only willing to do Brazilian waxes on men, she was willing to give me phone numbers of clients that were willing to talk to perspective clients about her and her services. I communicated with her via email and felt it was time for me to stop shaving and start getting waxed.
I'm more than happy with my esthetician. She's a mature woman, slightly younger than I, she's professional and to be frank ... she doesn't miss a spot nor is she embarrassed or willing to ensure I get a complete and thorough Brazilian wax. The trick is finding a esthetician that is willing to wax a man's pubic and genital area. I've had them say ... everything from "ewwww, no way", to just hang up on me and all I asked was ... "do any of your estheticians perform Brazilian waxes on male clients?" I even had one salon receptionist say ... "what's an esthetician?" Told me about the maturity level of several of the salons, locally.

I will start calling around.... I am tired of shaving and basically have let myself run wild this last month. I am wanting to get everything under control and only deal with it ever couple months or as needed versus a couple times a week....

RE: Male waxing

I've tried waxing. I found a salon that advertised male waxing online and booked in. The young woman I saw was very proffesional and put me at ease. As a naturist I'm used to being undressed in the company of others but the focus on my nether regions was a bit uncomfortable at first. Apparently they have quite a few male clients. It was certainly nothing new to her.
I must say I was disappointed that after about a week to a week and a half I had more hair regrowth than I was happy with, but insufficient to get waxed again (and in any case at that frequency it would bankrupt me). I tried to wait it out but resorted to shaving again. What I did find was that the regrowth was much finer and sparser making shaving much easier.
I'm thinking that I'll go back every so often when the hair starts to grow back thicker again and I can put up with allowing some regrowth between shaving and waxing.

Like anything else ... it takes time to adjust to waxing, the minor discomfort, the regrowth and the cost. I, too, was disappointed after my first wax but ... my esthetician stated that would happen and actually booked my next session for 3 weeks after my initial wax. Yeah ... I had to pay for it and it was the same cost but ... after the 3rd wax ... I was on a routine of every 6 weeks. It is pricey ... but, for the cost and length of time it lasts ... I'm willing to budget for it because I'm tired of shaving. I still shave, like I will tomorrow, but that's because I couldn't get in to see her before we are meeting up with nudist friends for a few days. When it grows back after this shave ... I will make an appointment and get back on track with my waxing routine. I was skeptical at first about waxing but ... I'm sold on it and glad I found someone that was willing to do it on men. :D

RE: Male waxing

I found a place in Kenner, LA. My experience is look.for a salon or esthetician that does male Brazilians. These will do any/all male waxing services. It costs $200-250 plus tip for full body; $75-100 Brazilian; depending upon the special of the month. Additional charge for hairy beasts.

My esthetician owns her own salon. She always has specials. The Brazilian wax is $75 but she has lots of specials like ... get a Brazilian wax and have your nose and ears done for $15 dollars! I tell ya ... having my nose and ears done is great. Getting older sucks and hair grows all over the place. I'm glad she will say ... "let's do your ears and nose ... it's time." Sometimes she charges me the $15 and other times she only charges me $10. I invited my wife to do it with me but she says she doesn't like to let her pubic hair grow out! I remember quite some time ago when she insisted on a very small patch but about 15 years ago went totally smooth and she says she'll never go back! :D

RE: Male waxing

I don't get waxed as often as I'd like to, due both to cost and being unable to always have an appointment at convenient times. When I do get waxed though it always feels and looks great for similar lengths of times to others here, maybe 2 weeks maximum. If we're going on a nudist holiday or staying at a club I try to get waxed just beforehand, I like not needing to shave regularly when there to stay smooth.
I've never had any problems with the actual process, its always been a woman who has waxed me and its been done very professionally, they're used to their clients being naked and dealing with all body areas. As a nudist being naked in a professional environment simply hasn't been an issue, they expect me to be nude and its how I'm most comfortable and relaxed.

RE: Male waxing

working on the self mastery of something called sugar wax. there are hundreds of youtube videos on how to make it and how to use it. imve had to let my hair grow out a bit to try it. my first time wasnt a complete success, but it was by no means a failure. i went into it knowing that this was probably not something i was going to get entirely right on the first try. attempt number one was very encouraging. got about half the pubic hair, all the gluteal hair and none of the arm pit or neck hair. i dont think it was really grown out enough for a proper waxing. if many of you have already gone for a waxing you should have little problem with this. you already know how it feels, youve seen the process and can learn on yourself. also if anything goes wrong or the pain is too great you can simply jump in the shower and wash it off. i would say the expirience is less painfull for the few minutes of hair ripping than the days or weeks fighting ingrown hairs, which is a problem for me. i suggest watching no less than a dozen videos on body waxing and three videos on sugar waxing. there is some technique that must be learned through practice and repitition. either way, imm comverting to self waxing via sugar wax. its easy, the pain is at acceptable levels and its cheap so i can do it whenever i feel i need it. most of my body hair came off for about the cost of a dollar and a few hours of bravery. i encourage others to try it, let me know how it goes for you. remember if at first you dont succeed, maybe review your facts and try again
