Coming to Visit Spain for the first time

Hi everyone
My girl friend and I are coming to spain next year. We would like to rent a small cottage or similar for about a month and use that as a base to explore. Any ideas?
Oh and if anyone wants to visit Tasmania please make sure you say Hi :)
