Desert Sun, Terra Cotta or Sea Mountain Inn, What's your favorite and why?

RE: What hotel is your favorite?

I love the Desert Sun Resort... so much so that I purchased one of the condo's across the bridge from the resort in 2005. I try to get to my home in the desert approximately 2 weeks every other month. I can tell that picture us from the main activity pool by the stairs to the hotel.
You are right the pic is at the volleyball pool with the best music. We totally agree with you. Desert Sun is our favorite and we are there at least once a month and in fall, winter and spring twice a month. We have so much fun around the 3 pools with all people who come. Hope people contact us before you go and perhaps we can meet you there.

Terra Cotta Inn. ;-)
I hesitate to answer "why?" because all that will happen is that we will have yet another heated discussion about which is better or why one dislikes one over the other.
I suspect that this being the "truenudist" site, that for obvious reasons, most people will not pick Sea Mountain because of it's sexual tone and environment.

They are both different places. One is larger (DSR) than the other (TCI). They both have adifferent guest/client base. Some nudists enjoy some activities, such as tennis and water volleyball. TCI does not have that and those that visit TCI aren't looking for that.
In our experiences alone; we've visited both many, many times. We are a fun loving couple but aren't partiers. We are social drinkers but don't get intoxicated. We don't get involved in too many theme parties or dances. We enjoy meeting other people and a more open and accepting group of nudists and don't care for the cliques that some places seems to attract. We enjoy the crowd that seems to be attracted to the more intimate and quaint environment of TCI.
Two different places, two different types of nudists visiting the place of their choice. We just prefer one over the other but would visit the other if we went with our friends.

We tend to agree with AndyDi about their views, on the two places. We all have our different likes and dislikes, so for us...we happen to actually "LOVE" Terra Cotta, and we can't wait for our next visit. Each and every year, we make our Holiday plans, to check out some other Tropical clothing optional resorts, in either Jamaica, Mexico, or Hawaii. We always book our flights, we book our resort....we start to count down the days, till we are exploring yet another clothing optional resort....and as if by clock work, we always end up Cancelling, those well thought out plans, a month or two before leaving.....and we just keep coming back to Terra Cotta, for yet another year.12 years later......and "Terra Cotta" is still Number One, on our List.... of all the places, to spend our precious and limited Holiday time at.Once again....we could go anywhere.... where ever we want.....Jamaica ( Been there ...Done that!) Mexico ( Been there ...Done that! ) Hawaii.....well....when it comes to Hawaii....we absolutely LOVE Hawaii.....how can you not?But....the only problem with Hawaii is...there are no "Terra Cotta's" in Hawaii, which is really really Sad!In spite of the fact, that we have been to Hawaii 50 million times in the past, there is nothing there, for couples like us.....that Love clothing optional resorts. We are so done... with the Nude Beach thing, and that is what keeps us coming back to "Terra Cotta", and the Love for Terra Cotta just continues to grow.We have been, to Desert Sun for a Day Visit, and for us.....there is absolutely no comparison, between the two resorts.Desert Sun is nice... and it is Big, and there lies the issue with us.Being as Big as Desert Sun is...it has no ambience or feel, to the place. It just feels very cold and clinical like...if you know what we mean?It is definitely not a warm fuzzy feeling that one gets, while you are lying out by the pool.Desert Sun for us....just lacks any Personality or Life to it......where as Terra Cotta, just oozes nothing but....Warmth and a Loving Personality the second that you walk through it's doors. We like AndyDi, are definitely "not" Party people at all....and that is what has stopped us, from exploring some of the other clothing optional resorts...where the Booze and other things flow freely."We" look as if.... LOL.... we would be Hard Core "Party People"... LOL......but...we are exactly "the opposite", as we do not Drink or Smoke..........(anything), and being forced to listen to "Loud Music" of someone else's tastes, and watching a group of "Adults", acting as if, it is their very First Beer "ever" while whooping it up in the Pool...all day long ( ever notice how these "Adults", never ever get out of the pool to Pee??!!??) ...is not what we are looking for, when we are away on or little Get Aways to the Sun!Because that Terra Cotta, frowns on that type of "Party it Up" behaviour and conduct.....the quiet and the peacefulness of Terra Cotta , is the Magic and the allure... that keeps pulling us back to Terra Cotta, year after year after year.Having said that, here is a Confession and a "Big Shocker" for you guys.......LOL.....we have also been to Sea Mountain, for a "Day Visit"......yup......we went out to the Projects of Palm Springs.....to check out Sea Mountain, to just see.....what the place was all about.LOL.....well......We paid $150.....thats right, we paid a $150 for the "Day Pass", and we stayed there, for all of an Hour MAX ( If that? ), and we were back in our Lounges, beside the pool at Terra Cotta, within 20 minutes of leaving that "Dump"!The one thing good thing, that we have to say about Sea Mountain is.....that who ever does their Advertising.....should really be given an award, for their excellent job.. of putting Lip Stick on a Pig!It really didn't matter how much Lip Stick they put on that Pig.....it was still a Pig! LOLSea Mountain, is located in the scummiest part of the Palm Springs area.....and calling it the Projects is putting it nicely.Mind you, if you Love to Party and Drink your faces off ...all day long, while lying around a tiny little pool on Filthy lounges....well....Sea Mountain is your kind of place.Once again....that was our own personal view.....but....each to their own! ( said with eyes Rolling)We always say, that people always attract their own kind....and we find that to be sooo True!Drinkers attract other Drinkers.....Party People attract other Party People... and Nice Quiet and Respectable People....attract other Nice Quiet and Respectable People.......and the latter group, are the types, that you will always find at Terra Cotta. In order to be Fair, to each of the above mentioned resorts.....do yourself a Big favour, and do your own personal reviews, by visiting each one of them, on a simple Day Pass.We all love different flavours and we all have our own favourite colours.......soooo.....try them all out, and see which one, is the best fit, or the best taste for you. When we went to Desert Sun for our Day Visit, we went there for the sole purpose of looking for another option, just in case....something was ever to happen to Terra Cotta, in the near to distant future.....one just never ever knows, what the future might hold...for any business.Having said that, we are really really glad, that we went to Desert Sun, for a look see.It just helped confirm......that their really is, No Place like Home! When we went to Desert Sun for the day,.....is just showed us.....that Dorothy, was no longer in Kansas! lolThere really is No Place like Home...and to us... "Terra Cotta" is our Home.... away from Home....when we are looking to be spending our Holiday Time and our Vacation money.....any where! We obviously Love Terra Cotta for what it is.....and what it is .....is..... "Magical" ...for us!Check it out...and we Guarantee, that you will be Thanking us!We Guarantee it!HHC
