Gone, But Not...Deleted?
This may {may???} be a bit of a "personal hang-up" to ask this, but I had to anyway. Also, I did not know where else to post it.
I have been to a few user pages where the "last login" date indicated over a year ago. The oldest year I remember seeing was 2008 {I am posting this in August of 2014}. Does TN "review" their accounts after years of non-use?
One reason I ask this is that I have come across a few FACEBOOK pages of people who have passed on, but their pages are still up. And that includes - not to put too fine a point on it - someone I knew of {although never met personally} who died a few years ago of a drug overdose.
Sorry if I seem a bit weird for posting this. Or to quote HAL from the movie 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, "I know this sounds a bit silly..."
My guess it no they do not, review them. On facebook someone has to inform facebook of the death of the person who has the profile, or if you know the person died you can delete the 'friend'. On here I think it works the same If I were to die suddenly, then after people saw I didn't use it, they would delete me as a friend. However it say out there in cyber space forever.
Just my thoughts.......
TN likes to keep the numbers up. In reality, there's maybe 1000 active users. Maybe. High numbers look good for ad purposes, or someday maybe selling the site. Also the main reasons fakes aren't booted.
