LOCKER ROOM NUDIST
Iv been a locker room nudist since high school.... showers were mandatory and we had to walk from our locker to the showers nude, after our shower we walked to the end of the 100-foot long locker room to the towel-rack to pick up a dry towel, and then back to our locker. There were 200 naked guys in each gym class, 1200 guys in the school, so after four years of showering every day of the school year....Being nude with hundreds of other guys was no big deal.
almost a year ago i left a gym that i had been going to for a few years because it was getting to be too expensive and the gym itself was in disrepair. the good thing about it was that most of the guys didn't have a problem with nudity, theirs or anyone else. i'm now going to planet fitness, a lot cheaper and in great shape but everyone there is quite prudish about nudity. some guy actually told me to cover up the other day, i just looked at him and then ignored him. i wish more guys around here were open to nudity in the gym
It has never been a problem for me being nude in the locker room. It's just natural. At the gym I go to though, and I am sure its the same at others, you see guys totally naked, semi, those changing clothes with a tent wrapped around them and those that simply never take their clothes off. I saw a guy the other day showering in board shorts. If I were that afraid to get nude in public, I would go home to take a shower and skip the gym's.

You are one of the lucky ones. I wished I got over my shyness while in high school. I did become a locker room nudist while in my late 20's. I am so glad I saw it as a problem that I need to overcome. Now I love going to a Korean Spa that has a area in the men's locker room with 3 hot tubs, sauna, steam room etc. All are naked in this area of the locker room and I have seen up to about 50 guys in there. No one in there has a problem with walking around naked without a towel. It is like an old saying, when all are nude no one is nude. It is like you do not feel nude or notice but you just feel so relaxed around everyone and enjoy the male camaraderie.

I've had the exact same experience with Planet Fitness. Much more prudish with nudity.
I have more than one gym membership and I've found that the attitude and openness to locker room nudity varies a lot based on the gym, and even the time of day. The location I frequent the most often is fairly open with nudity and still has an open, common shower room. In one other location I visit, the early morning crowd tends to be pretty open about nudity but the evening crowd is very prudish. There are always those who buck the trend, however (including me), and I applaud anyone who has the courage to do that!

the same situation here. I've gone to several gyms where they had open showers and people were often openly nude. Now at Planet Fitness I find the guys are more into covering up and cautious about nudity. I still walk around naked and stay naked while shaving at the sink, just as i do at home, but there's definitely a difference from other locker rooms and i think i am probably judged as pushing the nudist envelope. And they have small cubicle showers. But I go to a Russian sauna where the locker room is naked and the sauna and steam room are both openly naked and guys walk around even sit around in the TV lounge naked. The atmosphere is so much better there!
I find that there is a mix in my gym. Technically you are supposed to be covered in the sauna, but if it is empty or other cool people you can hang out nude. The ones that make me laugh the most are the ones who put on underwear while they are wearing a towel. We are in a locker room! LOL
Only recently started going to a gym and when I joined it was mid-refurbish. This meant we had to use the swimming pool changing rooms, which are "co-ed" and all private cubicles. Biggest hassle was post session, where I'd have to change from my gym kit into a pair of swimming trunks in order to take a shower!
They've now opened the gender-segregated dry changing rooms but there's been no official word on what the policy is with nudity. There are loads of lockers, benches, plenty of space, but about five changing rooms, so I'm guessing the cubicles are kind of optional. I figure if there's no formal word on nudity, then it's all up for grabs, so I'm basically happy enough to be naked in there.
The lockers are all "BYO padlock" too, so it's taking a while for people to start using them in the first place. First time I used them I had the place to myself which was kind of weird and fun.
Always felt there's way more dignity in being comfortable naked than trying to dress under a towel, too!
My old gym was a commercial chain, they had cubicles in the male changing room which were rarely used. It was normal there to strip off and walk to shower naked with towel over your shoulder, at least that's what I and many others did. In my current gym, people are far more coy, you rarely see anyone naked for any length of time, many put underwear on while still having a towel wrapped around themselves.
I've not known any gym to have a policy for nudity in the changing room, although many like this current one require swimwear in the mixed sauna area.
