RE: LOCKER ROOM NUDIST

I once belonged to a LA Fitness in Tucson, AZ. They actually had a sign posted as you went in stating that they considered it to be a "changing room" and while ok, only brief periods of nudity were permitted. Thay had a sign at the showers asking to wear shorts or bathing suits. The showers were all little cubes! Suffice to say, when I found better accommodations, I left the gym of the pretty people and went to a Y around the corner.Wow. I have seen signs in locker rooms telling you to sit on a towel in the sauna and require bathing suits in any public area. But I have never seen a sign in a single sex locker room or changing area that says people need to wear a bathing suit or limit the length of time undressed! I just find this so rigid and conservative and controlling. Uptight! It's way more healthy and sanitary to shower nude than toonly get yourselfpartially clean wearing a bathing suit. It's just asking forfungal infections. I've tolda story in other posts, but in my current locker room, where nudity is often practiced, I actually saw two guys in their early 20's walk to the showers in underwear (this gym has separate private cubicles with curtains), enter those showers and close the curtains, take their showers in their underwear, reach for their towels and dry off behind their curtains, wrap the towels around their waists still wearing their wet underwear, and then put their pants on over their wet underwear! That, to me is extreme discomfort with nudity.

RE: LOCKER ROOM NUDIST

Well my adventure with the under-used locker rooms continue. They're slowly seeing more use, I think with the inflow of new members. It still accounts for only about a third of the guys working out, though. Last night, though, I found myself in a weird situation. A couple of young guys (who seem to come in primarily to sit on the machines) had come into the locker room. One was seated on the bench near my locker talking into his phone, the other was standing facing him (and therefore me). I'd emerged from the shower and was towelled. Wandered over to my locker and opened it. Then an old guy came in who happened to have the locker next to mine. Basically I end up in this situation where I am standing in an otherwise large and empty locker room, wedged between three fully-clothed people and, of course, I have to be naked. I think it would have made quite a picture!

RE:LOCKER ROOM NUDIST

I am a Dean at a school that was supposed to be K-8. During the planning period of the school you would not believe how upset parents were about having lockers with showers. Well, the school was kept as an elementary school, but the gym and showers were built anyway. The locker rooms are empty except for staff. We do have a nice staff weight room to use.

I myself cannot stand being damp or wet and having clothes...so yep, in the locker rooms I'm nude for awhile. Sometimes others decide it's ok and will join me. This is not at our school gym as since it is an elementary school most staff are women

RE:LOCKER ROOM NUDIST

Switched gyms towards the end of last year.

The old gym's locker rooms were a simple layout. Big square room with a door in one corner, shower cubicles in the other, lockers round the walls, benches in front of the lockers.

The new gym, though, has a shared "co-ed" locker area, a guy's changing room (no door, just a staggered wall to kill the line of sight) with the showers and vanity area tucked away behind a further wall, with a few lockers for whoever is in the shower.

Naturally, I try to be the change I want to see in the world, so will strip down before and after my sessions in the changing area, and *then* go over to the shower area, but even in their, the tendency seems to be to go into the cubicles in underwear, and take them off once inside. I'm in month four at the new place and I think I've only seen two naked guys so far. What is comical is that the locker area by the showers is pretty small, so in what I assume is a bit of a nudge towards people never being naked, it kind of forces naked and/or toweled guys to invade each other's body space, or (and the second naked guy I saw was doing this) for guys to hang round waiting for someone to get out of the way.

And for what it's worth, I've never really registered much of a reaction to my being naked in the changing room, either.
