Your blog comments are well said and indeed profound.
I indeed wish in hindsight that I had been equally objective at your age.
Thankfully I at least now have a similar appreciation of what true naturism really means for us and others.

quite thoughtful. In today's world, sex sells well. wherever you see, you will find things are packaged to appeal from a sex starved angle. In oldertimes, there were people, specially artists and sculptors who worked on nudity...
In present time, in contemporary art form, you wont find such effort to celebrate nudity.

Your words are quite insightful, thanks for posting them in a Blog (as well as a Forum) for all to view. We all bring different attitudes and interests to our enjoyment of nudism. As you say, many equate it with sex--which seems to be the biggest mindset against it. I've found that many think it'd be a neat thing to do but are either afraid to try it or don't know how to go about finding a place for enjoyment of nudism. I think the most important thing is for each one of us, in our own way and whenever possible, to be openand express the joy and freedom that nudity brings for all of us.Totally agree with you Leo. when the word realy is Freedom ! It is for me at least

Hi everyone. I have written a blog on the above subject. Please feel free to share your views and suggestions.https://www.truenudists.com/members/blogs/view.php?id=6409Thanks for your blog. It shows you are a true naturist, happy with your naked body as part of nature. But that is just one sort of nudism. Many of us just enjoy the uninhibited freedom, openness and vulnerability of nudity. It gives a feeling of well-being that needs no explanation. We also enjoyseeing nudes and being seen naked.Like everyone else nudists can enjoy sex. The important thing is to distinguish betweennudity and sex.
Nudity sells. Marketing men are quick to latch on, knowing that a naked or part naked body gives the general public some form or titillation. I came to nudity through art. The human body is a thing ofreal beauty. It has inspired great artists for centuries. But some of their patrons were looking for titillation as well as art. Without theirconfusion between sex, nudity and art we would not have many of the old masters we have today.
People can be against nudity on two levels, or maybe three. At the base there are those who make that confusion between sex, or porn, and nudity. It is sold that way in strip clubs, lap/pole dancing clubs and on the internet. So the confusion is hardly surprising. At the second level they may accept nudity, maybe even with a little titillation, but they would not want to be with anyone who is naked. Any of the above can be a treat to a nudist - reporting him to the authorities for indecent exposure or worse.
There are people who accept nudity in others but would not get naked themselves. They may have a lack of body confidence. But, even though they are not nudists themselves, they are not actually against nudism.
I have met all of these, both in my daily life and when on holiday or a nude hike. In general I find that people do not object to my nudity as long as I show respect forthem. So Icover my genitals when meeting someone during a nude hike or on a textile beach. Butwhen my covering is inadequate they are more amused than offended. My daily life is in avillagesmall enough foreveryone to know everyone else's business. They all know I'm a nudist and none of them see me as any sort of sexual predator. Most would prefer not to see me naked, though some have been amused when catching me. One of the biggest prudes is my son who lives with me. Though he is happy for me to spend night after night posting my photos on nude sites like TN, he gets deeply embarrassed when he sees me naked. He wasn't brought up that way, seeing both his mother and I naked as a matter of course through his childhood. So I get dressed when he is home.
I think one way of getting people around us to accept nudity is to show that, deep down, we are the same as anyone else. When naked we behave in just the same way as we do when we are dressed.

CR, I have only one difference with you. I have a huge collection of nude photos. BUT, I collect them in an honest appreciation of the beauty of the human form. None of my photos are of sexual activities. They are all of happy naturally active people doing normal activities. They are often in beautiful natural scenes. Not much different than collecting photos of beautiful horses, dogs, cats, animals in nature. The human is no less beautiful creation than any of these! What is more beautiful, joyous, and natural than a couple of kids chasing their dog across the yard while they and their dog are all nude? This image has children and nudity but not perversion.I also have a fairly large profile portfolio on this site. Not to exhibit myself but to demonstrate a nudist lifestyle where most things can be and are done nude. I am trying to counterbalance the notion that nudity is "obviously sexual" or "provocative". If this is exhibitionist, then it is exhibitionist with a noble intent.I appreciate your gist. But, had to defend the collector of beauty.May the sun continue to shine on your entirety.

Read your bog, nowMY opinion:I was raised in anudist colony in a N. California town. The "colony" was a housingdevelopment of 9 cul-de-sacs, 91 homes and some 250 kids of varied ages. Theplace had a 10 foot wall around it w/w a guard gate at one end.The biggest"problem" for me growing up was "Mommy/Daddy; why do I have toget dressed to go to school? "Personally, Ibelieve that why the masses are against nudism is as follows:1. They're scared ofand vain about their own bodies.2. The fashion/clothingIndustry does not want us.3. Fake Moralbeliefs fed by MODERN Christianity. To me, this is the biggest one & itgoes like this................It does not matter that others believe, but modernChristians fed along with law enforcement, children's groups and allot ofpolitical people have been brainwashed into believing that there is somethingwrong, perverted and even sinful with being nude because it is acquainted withsome nasty sexual and deviant behavior. It is therefore easy to understand thatall the powers that be in Christian circles do not want anything to do withnudity, of course before marriage; and even then only in moderation. What isnot understood by all of them is that we nudists just wish to be left alone tobe nude and enjoy ourselves. NOT in a sexual manner [although that does happensometimes] but in harmony with nature WITHOUT clothes, after all we were allborn naked, except for some LDS Polygamists who believe that they were bornwith their clothes on. [Makes me wonder how they have sex, clothed too? Lol]An example of this is as follows: The LDS church 4 yrsago repealed the Peeping Tom law to get ready for the one Im about to tellya about. If the church/state of Utah gets their way if you areseen in your own home, or sunbathing nude in ur backyard, someone can look overthe fence and see u there nude. You will now get a 1st class Misdemeanorcitation for LEWDNESS [which as we all know is a sexual class of crime]. Afterthe 3rd citation, under the Three Strike Law of the State of Utahyour third one makes it a FELONY and requires you to be a registered sexoffender; FOR BEING NUDE IN YOUR OWN HOME/BACK YARD. Again, a nasty, sinful andperverted act say all the politicians and modern Christians. [There are 10,000of us Utahans fighting this to keep it from becoming law.] The idea of this isbeing debated in closed session, and without any say of the people. Nice huh?
