I had to give it a try. Some things are better, some things are worse. I think after I get use to it, it will be OK. Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off the message when someone enters the room? I got the doorbell off, but not the message itself.
The new chat room probably takes some getting used to. At first I don't like it. Most of all, I couldn't figure out how to turn on my cam.
In the top right corner is a cam icon, clicking it turns on your cam and also mike if you have one. There is also a button to stop the room from scrolling so you can take time to read something if needed when room is full and it is moving fast. Next to it is button to turn of sound notification when people enter or leave room. I am still learning the new things different with room, my biggest complaint is I can't make the type larger, it is too small for me to read easily. I had some of the other problems mentioned in earlier posts with room full and password issues, I went back to my account page and it worked fine when I went back in.
Must be startup hiccups. The six browsers log in properly now. After lurking in there for a few moments, I have decided anew that chat and grammar/spelling nazis like me are mutually exclusive. By the time I finish proofreading my post, what I would be responding to would be long gone. Gimme the good old forum every time. :-)
I think I will be in agreement with you on this issue. I tried the chat. It was difficult to keep up. I prefer conversing this way.
The biggest problem I had in the new chat room was whispering to someone.....it was easy to do ...BUT...then every time I replied to someone else it came up as a whisper to the person I originally whispered to...all too difficult for this old girl, but I am sure I will eventually get the hang of it all :)
I had a similar problem with messaging a specific person. When I replied to someone else, it still went to the specific person. The problem is how to turn it off, when you want to go back to speaking to everyone.
I think I will get the hang of it. I have seen a chat room on another web site look like this. It probably is the same software company.

I found that icon and it did turn my cam on. The problem is that I didn't recognize the icon to be of a cam, and hovering over the icon yielded the text, "Publish video." If only they called it a webcam there would have been no problem. Oh the trouble with software instructions is they call it something else, other than what you expect. "Publish" to me means to author a book and go to a publisher to sell the book.
I cannot login to the chat. why is that? it says: password needed and/or guests cannot logged in. i just can type in my nickname/username and i can choose the sex (male female couple).
how can i solve the problem? help. why doesnt it work?
the chat isnt working here...
i tried 3 different browsers... is it because i am in germany? has it to do with windows 7, flashplayer or the cache? the chat "thinks" that i am a guest and i cant disable the guest-option. i can only type in a username and no passwort. that sucks so much!!!
who can help me?
