Great discussion guys. I never can figure why if a man is straight and therefore not attracted sexually to other males he would have any hesitation to cuddling with a male close friend. It can be a truly beautiful bonding experience clothed or nude.
The great thing is that this discussion is even happening, because if nothing else I feel it helps each of us to be more open to male bonding, which has to start somewhere and what better place than with us. The absence of male bonding is, to my mind, one of the largest factors contributing to the epidemic of depression in older males. I think this sort of thing is happening more and more with each new generation. People often confuse male intimacy with sexual orientation and men have isolated themselves from the kind of intimacy that is possible with other men in a non sexual way. I think gay men have also confused this intimacy with sex. Which leaves lots of men without outlets for intimate bonding.

Good point. We live in a highly sexualized society, therefore there must be some sexual undertone in everything and anything, even when there is none or should be none.

As an update, we've hung out twice this week for lunch at work. Our dynamic hasn't changed at all. Still friendly and laughing. We've talked loosely about getting together again this weekend. No definite plans. Perhaps go see a movie and grab a drink. He's also offered to help me rake leaves at my place. Apparently he enjoys yard work and has no yard at his apartment building.

I lay in the bed with my brother naked. We sleep together at times naked. I am gay, he is not. We have no hangups about being naked together. Our Parents are extremely conservative, they do not agree with nudism, homosexuality, or males sleeping with males. Unfortunately we live under their roof and they can not know we are nudists, I am gay, or that we sleep together at times.
