Local area nudists that you can trust
One would think that. But there are a lot of closet or at home nudists. Other side to is, that some people would rather meet a a resort and keep there home life to them selves. But I do agree, why cant it be so simple.
We have been trying to locate area nudists for years and you would think with the internet it would be much easier to find local nudists and not have to deal with the pretenders.
Here's a similar situation.
We live in an area where we are close to a nudist club. One would assume that there would be several nudists in our area but in fact ... it's ALL guys without significant others. We've been contacted, on here, about coming over and hanging out by the pool but we don't do that. If anyone is coming to our home to be nude with us, we will have had to have met them in person more than once, hit it off and become somewhat friends. Some of these guys want to know straight up ... "is your wife gonna be there too and will she be naked with us?" Right there ... sends up a red flag and the communication stops.
As I stated on the other thread. It's best to meet people at a club or resort, become friends, then invite them to your home for a gathering, lunch, dinner, hot tub ... We met this couple in Palm Springs over 10 years ago. We were actually there with another couple we'd been friends with for about 3 years. This new couple placed their towels on the lounge chairs we normally used so we moved over a set. We all ended up out on the lounges, making introductions around 9 am. By noon ... we knew this couple was right for us. We continued our relationship building throughout the day and that night, we all went out to dinner and had an awesome time. We continued our night with time in the hot tub and finally hugged good night and went to bed around 1 am.
We spent the entire next day and night together, the 6 of us. During which time we made plans for meeting up again at the same place in about 6 months. We enjoyed this couple so much ... we invited them to come and stay with us a few days before heading over to PS for our bi-annual vacation to this resort with our other friends. This couple and the original couple we met at this PS resort ... are our best friends. We have textile friends we've been friends with for over 30 years and we are much closer to these two nudist couples than we are with our textile friends and we've known them 1/2 the time.
So ... finding friends is difficult with just the internet. You can be who you want or who others want but in real life ... you are who you are and just because we all say we are nudists and love living nude ... not all these people on the internet nudist sites are on the up and up nor will they all be a good fit for you as friends. We went through lots of acquaintances at clubs and resorts before we landed our small group of close nudist friends. But like you say ... we all live so far away from each other. We are in Southern California, our closest friends are in Colorado, next are our Washington friends, Oregon friends, Dallas, TX friends and Canadian friends. The only time we can see each other is to hop on a plane and plan an extended stay at each others homes or meet at a resort but ... it's worth the wait. We truly wish you luck with finding friends close by. I think we'd like to do the same but haven't been successful.
A lot of home nudists are home nudists because they do not know enough about a nudist resortbut may be willing to meet other home nudists. We have met some at local restaurants and those have worked out in most cases. It is easy to spot the guys that think meeting us is cheaper than a table dance at the boobie bar, but they don't get that chance here.

Totally agree with you again. Not everyone kicks it off. Nude or clothed. So finding those people who your comfortable around is always important. The red flags should go off if something doesnt seem right. We are all still the same people naked and clothed (well most of us).
I travel quite extensively, so you would think that I would be naked with friends all over the country, but in fact, it's very difficult to make friends for nudist activities in person. Many people just aren't as open in person as they seem to be online. There is an obvious trust thing involved as well, since I am a single guy, it seems single guys have a stigma for being huge perverts, so most people stay away. It's a shame that nudism for single guys has such a difficult annotation to overcome!
Yeah, I joined a local non-landed nudist group associated with AANR in Charlotte. We typically meet at someone's house at least once a month. It's made up of locals from around NC and SC. I've really enjoyed it. Met some really great people.
I really have found it difficult to find other nudist in my area as well. I tried Craigslist once and it didn't really work out well. I did meet one person, however they didn't really keep in touch although I did try. In hopes of meeting more locals I did make a group here on TN but only one other person has joined. I'm also trying to find people of my age group, too, in hopes to further persuade my wife into more social nudist activities.

Yes, its tough. You get enthusiastic and arrange a meet at a Starbucks or local deli and it ends up being boring when you find out you have nothing common except nudism. Now, you're stuck. If the person/people want to "hang out" then you feel like you have a puppy dog following you around. Meeting at a club is ideal because you can go separate ways and do other things. Of course, if there's no club then what do you do?
My wife and I are always wary about meeting people since a friendship takes time to groom. When you're with a group of people some attract you and seem O.K. and some just don't gel. Just like any large group you need numbers to gravitate to the people that work for you. Hence, the whole meeting problem. No club, no large groups.

You hit it right on - finding nudist with other things in common. Nudist is only a small part of who I am.
It's not easy. The only nudists I meet are at my club, which is a 1 1/2 hour drive, and that is basically a summer place. The winter activities there are minimal, as most of the activities are outdoor based.I have received very little communication of local nudists through TN, my attempts usually don't receive a response. The only other local activities are nude swimming events which usually don't work with my work schedule, and are a bit of a hike. But, I'm not giving up! Spring and summer are not that far off!
