RE: Boat Camping Nude

We have done Lake Powell nude a couple of times, plenty of space there to find a nice camping spot. We would be nude most of the time but would need to dress to go to Dangling Rope for gas and supplies, mainly ice, every few days. I only had a small 18 footer, which is great for going in and out of the canyons. The only real issue was the jet skis that can come from nowhere, at first I would have a towel and cover up every time I heard one, but after a few days I would cover up only in the narrowest spots. When I was seen I tended to get one of two reactions, either they smile and wave, or they turn around and pretend like you do not exist. :-) I have caught others on the lake nude as well, so it is all good!

Back in the 80's I saw the best of both of these worlds meet. A companycalled "Camp-A-Float", would load your smaller size RV's onto a pontoontype barge. Strap it down and away you'd go in your "new" houseboat.

My boat is a canoe but I sure go nude camping in it.A canoe can surely get you to places a lot of other types of boats can't get to. Going through narrower or shallower waterways, so you can get to more secluded areas. I prefer sail or power boats though, as I can go longer distances with less effort and take along more gear for longer stays. Although sailboats will limit you in some cases where there may be over hanging tree limbs. But if your sail rig is small enough and you are determined to get into that spot, you can always take the mast down and paddle in the rest of the way. At one time I did have a small trolling motor rigged up to clamp onto the rudder so I didn't have to paddle so much.

Flat out the BEST way to camp nude! Enjoyed many an outing on my little boat this way. Our problem is that all of our area lakes are so very crowded now, you just can't go out for even a day without tons of boats and jet-ski's around.

That is why I like Kentucky Lake, in Western KY. It is large and there is plenty of room for boaters to relax nude. I enjoy nude boat camping at anchor in a secluded bay. I've been doing it for years and have never had any problems.

Have any of y'all started thinking about doing a nude boat camping trip yet? This thread may have sparked an idea you had not thought about yet, but now want to give a try.Just checking back to see if anyone did any nude boat camping this summer, perhaps inspired by this thread I started months ago. Even if you have already been, before I started the thread, feel free to share some of your stories of nude boat camping. Sadly enough, I did not do any this summer, but would have liked to if I could get someone to go with me. Camping is more fun with others rather than alone.

I've camped by boat my entire life. And far more by boat than any
other way, although I've never thought of it as camping. I've
always called them fishing trips. But it's more like RVing.
Just find a spot, set the anchor, and you're camped
;-) Our barrier islands here are 9-12 miles offshore and almost
deserted during the week. And there are so many miles of beaches
and coves, you can sometimes even find relative isolation on a few
weekends. It's great :-)

Not really camping, but some years ago, I did get a chance to go nude water skiing (nude except for the life jacket anyway) - a friend of a friend had a skiboat pulled up to the Collins nude beach near Portland and I got a chance to join them when they went out for some skiing - a lot of fun!
