RE: Nude in the locker room..

I'm like the only one (under 70y) that gets naked in my LA Fitness here in Miami... They look at me like I've just strolled out into the Gym nude.
The shower-towel-dance makes me laugh!
Just GO FORTH NAKED!

I have no problem being naked amongst others, in many gyms I've been to, you have no choice. The university I went to had the old gang style showers, so you would hang up your towel and walk naked into the shower area amongst your friends. Most modern gyms I've been to now have private cubicles, some even have private cubicles in the changing area!
Thinking back, I probably was a little shy at first, but I totally agree with the previous post, having open showers is a great way to get over any shyness you might have.

RE: Nude in the locker room..

I am curious, how many guys in here have no issues being nude in the locker room, steam room, whirlpool with others? I have beguin to notice that most guys are covered up and freaked out is any part of their body shows. On the other hand, I notice that most the high school guys are running around the locker room naked as a jay bird.I couldn't believe a guy covered in a towel (while in the men's locker room) just to take off his underwear to go into the sauna. He almost fell over trying to take his undies off beneath his towel. I thought that is what people did on the beach, not in a locker room.
Also because while almost falling, he apparently show his genitals to a guy behind him and apologized to the guy for showing his genitals. The guy behind him said - and I quote "never been there". What the heck did that mean?

RE: Nude in the locker room..

VERY TRUE! Guys have been in the military (Viet Nam or the Middle East) have no problem with casual male nudity, and neither do guys who had physical education classes in school growing up. We are in our 40s 50s and 60s.But guys who haven't been in the military or had P.E. classes are very shy about being seen naked. They are in their 20s and 30s. Plus they grew up in the "stranger danger" years, when their mommies warned them not to let anyone see their pee-pees, plus they have been traumatized by Abercrombie & Fitch models and the hypersexualization of porn on the Internet. This is good news about high school kids. Let's hope that they grow up to be "normal" and more carefree about casual male nudity.https://groups.yahoo.com/group/YMCAnakedWhat does A&F have to do with anything in the same category as being ashamed of nudity other than they only market to people in good physical shape? Have you ever seen an A&F quarterly publication? You habe to be 18 to buy it 95% of the models are nude. I'm not trying to argue I just don't see how that company fit in to your example along with stranger danger and mommy said hide your peepee. Lol.
