Introduction

Hi everyone. Linda suggested I introduce myself to the group, so here goes:

My mother died of cancer back in 2001. While the cancer was generalised, it is believed it originated in her lungs since the damage was first noticed there.

My mother never smoked. But she worked in a detox centre where patients were allowed to smoke in some areas as consolation for not drinking or taking drugs. She often talked about how it was hard to put up with the smoking there. I often wonder if she was an unwitting victim of a well-meaning but misguided policy.

I have never smoked, and neither has my sister. My brother does smoke, but he was never allowed to do so in the house. My wife and children don't smoke. So far, so good.

Sorry to start off on such a sad note. If there's something else I should say, let me know.

Gerry,
Welcome to the non-smokers group. I too never smoked. At age 75, my lungs are still healthy.

RE: Introduction

Welcome to all of you. I did smoke but was years ago. I cannot stand the smell of smoke now and am so sorry that I ever did it.
