same here,,only 10 seconds on my timer,,barely time to get any decent pics
I find 10sec to be plenty of time to get in front of the camera and pose. I think hard about the position I'll be in first. And I usually take long shots and crop the resulting photo to get the composition I want.

I have just posted some, and some look posed, some a bit more natural. I've got a small tripod with a clamp that holds my phone, so I can set it up, adjust the view, and then trigger the delay and scamper into position.
