i have changed from going tent camping in 2015
And so it begins...
Most folks start out in a tent and before you know it, you're in an RV. I spent most of my life tent camping but ran into the opportunity to purchase a small pop-up for a pick-up. On the first trip, the weather turned cold and I turned on the heater. Boy was I hooked - first time I had ever been warm in the evening while camping. Now I find it very hard to even consider going back!
So sorry to hear that. Could not stay boxed up in camper any more than a cabin or house.
Sailboat is about the only time I am camping in more than a tent. (Sometimes just a hammock or sleeping bag under the stars.
If you can drive there, it just ain't camping.
My wife and I tent camped for years before my son was born at which time we bought a pop-up. It was convenient, but we didn't care for established campgrounds. Now that our son is grown, it's backpacks and kayaks, and no restrictions. That pop-up was too hard to portage for more than a mile or so... :])
I was married to a woman who defined roughing it as a black and white TV in the hotel.
Now that isroughing it. Even the Pioneers that settled the American West didn't have to suffer the hardship of having to watch a B&W television while camping!
