Tom Dorman Nature Preserve Hike
Anyone in Central Ky interested in hiking in the Tom Dorman Nature Preserve? I was surfing the web and found reference to this place as a likely naked hiking location. It was suggested that one go mid week but stated that is was not very populated anytime. Anyone have any experiences at this place? Perhaps we could get a small group together to hike here sometime this Spring. Perhaps mid April or in May. Reply here and/or PM me. I may go alone. But, I would prefer it to be a friend making experience.
Just completed the hike at Tom Dorman Nature Preserve near Lancaster KY. It is a nice hike in a secluded area. I hiked with a new TN friend. No one was parked at the trail head so we took off down the trail nude. It had rained the day before and some of the trails were very slippery slopes. It is a beautiful area. WE had an encounter with one other hiker who must have arrived after we did and took the loop in the other direction. I was hiking up a slippery slope and watching my step when I came eye to eye with twodogs. Their owner was at the other end of their leashes. I petted the dogs and spoke briefly with him and continued on my way. He and I were cool with it I usually carry a pair of skimpy nylon running shorts, with sides split to the waistband and the liner removed, undermy hat. But,nearly colliding with him, I didn't have the time to put them on! I don't want to offend anyone. But I am very comfortable in only my skin. This is about a three mile trail if you don't miss any turns. We actually had to back track twice and made it afive mile hike. Quite nice for those close by.
