Nudity on Survivor 2015
The promo at the end of Survivor for next week's episode was all about nudity. They had clips of the contestants nude and a comment of something like "How did my team turn into the naked team?"
I don't know where Survivor is this season, but it looks pretty hot and tropical. No need for clothes.
I also noticed the teaser on last nights episode.
Survivor is no stranger to using nudity to boost ratings. They started with season one when the eventual winner, Richard, spent his birthday in his birthday suit. While not overtly hostile to nudism, my perception of their presentation was that Richard was somehow weird for ditching what little clothes any of the participants generally wear (wonder what the ratings would be for Survivor Antarctic?). Other seasons have featured contestants getting naked for chocolate and peanut butter (Survivor Amazon?), and it seems that some sort of nudity shows up in every season. Always the brief, pixelated scenes, are promoted as something somehow scandalous and never as a normal activity or occurrence.
I suppose we should be happy that at least Survivor does not present nudity as some sort of criminal activity...
Have always enjoyed Survivor over the years .. I guess it is considered the first 'reality' show ?? Realized last night too late that it was the first episode of the new season .. won't miss next week !
I agree and I also missed the first hour. It kind of snuck up on us. I applied to be on the show during the early days but was never contacted. I believe that I would have done well in the physical game but probably would have done miserably in the social game.
