Have any of your neighbors seen you nude at home through a window? Can your neighbors call the police on you if they see you nude in your home? The other day I was walking through my kitchen past a window that doesn't have a blind on it and I think my neighbor in the next building may have seen me nude. So I'm assuming they didn't notice or if they did, they didn't bother to call the police.They can call the authorities, but in the privacy of your own home there is not much that can be done. I havr had a female state trooper show up when I was nude in back garage, I did slip on a pair of shorts before talking with her. She was there on a different matter, and never mentioned be being nude. Adn being nude in house, as long as you are not making a point of being seen thru a window, not much can be done. I mean to the point of standing in window waving at people on street, then something can be done.

This is a different take on the topic; seeing a female neighbor topless.
About eight years ago the house behind us was bought by an European professional soccer player. Because the neighborhood was new the landscaping didn't provide any privacy. A few times the wife/girlfriend of the soccer player sunned topless beside their pool. Since the house is on a corner lot, people driving by on the side street could have also see her. We figured she may have also been European, as she mad no effort to hide her toplessness.
I had forgotten about this until recently when a real estate agent showing our house asked us about the topless woman behind us! News sure travels fast and far.

Here is another neighbor spotting story.
A few years ago I was walking our two dogs. While they were sniffing in a yard a few blocks from home a movement in the house caught my attention. When I looked at the front door, which was glass, I saw the silhouette of a tall, thin female figure. It appeared to be some feet back from the door. The silhouette looked to be nude, definitely not wearing anything that indicated being clothed.
Walking the dogs not long after that episode, the glass in the door was covered. A good clue she liked to be nude in her house, without being an exhibitionist.

This discussion got me thinking again about how I believe a lot of the non-acceptance and views by society that nudism is something that only perverts do is self caused by the nudists themselves. Most of us are afraid of being arrested, hassled, labeled, etc. to the point where we hide in the dark, shadows, behind curtains, etc. so we begin to just automatically think that you could get in trouble and society sees the fear and hears of the hiding thus building the perception that it is wrong. In many (obviously not all) situations and places that is not the case and it is not illegal. Like a few have said here it depends upon the law in their area which most people fail to actually check into. It can vary by local ordinances but in California the Indecent Exposure law is thatdefendant willfully exposed his or her person or private parts AND the defendant must have intended to act for a lewd or obscene purpose. The prosecutor can establish intent by showing that the defendant intended to direct public attention to the defendant's genitals or that the defendant wanted to achieve sexual arousal, sexual gratification, or sexual affront. In other words, if I'm minding my own business say gardening then it is not indecent exposure.Now, am I one of those people that I say am helping create the problem...yes. I am not about to go test it by going out in the front yard and working on my yard nude and offend the neighbors. However, I do wander my backyard nude and two 2 story homes overlook the yard. Neither neighbor has complained.Most importantly, check the laws in your state and local area. I'm sure world-wide they range probably from it's fine to you might be arrested if someone saw you naked in your own home and they were in the home too.
I think we are confused. Public indecency requires the intended act to be lewd or obscene purpose. Indecent exposure does not require intent to be lewd. Indecent exposure says the act is lewd by itself no matter what the intent is.
The definition oh Indecent Exposure that I gave is what Callifornia defines it as. Again, check the law in your state etc. The definition I gave of Indecennt Exposure is straight out of Calufornia law. You can see for yourself by doing a Google search for California Indecent Exposure Law

I did some research on the topic and in PA indecent exposure has to be committed in a public place, outside the home. But there is an open lewdness statute which reads as follows (and I've also included some legal notes I copied and pasted from a law firm's website:
Open Lewdness- 18 Pa.C.S. Section 5901- A person commits a misdemeanor of the third degree if he does any lewd act which he knows is likely to be observed by others who would be affronted or alarmed
They are both similar in that neither indecent exposure nor its companion offense, open lewdness, requires proof of intent to affront or alarm the general public.Id. No malicious intent is required.
The offense ofopen lewdnessmust be committed in a notorious fashion in a place open to the public view. Such misconduct in front of an open window fronting on a public street constituted the offense. Com. v. Alessi, 29 Erie C.L.J. 172 (1946). The accused here was inside his home and the victim was outside the home.

I am sure I have been seen nude by both my neighbors while nude in my backyard. Neither one has mentioned anything to me but I have caught one neighbor looking over the fence on several occasions while doing his gardening. This makes me want to raise the fence height to 7' or higher. I hate to do that because in some way it makes me feel like I am hiding but I think I need to in order to feel safe in my yard.

Just to be safe and to ensure no neighbor sees me nude even while minding my own business cooking, washing dishes, sitting on the couch or whatever, I'm going to the Home Depot tomorrow to buy blinds. I have the window measurements and they already have brackets. I just need to find the right sized blinds.
