Implants
Having just returned from a nude resort, I had occasion to observe a lot of people- hey, people watching is more fun without clothing!
What I noticed was that a very large number of the women at the resort had obviously had breast augmentation. Perhaps as much as 50%.
I have always understood that some women crave more attention, and hire a plastic surgeon to build bigger breasts than what nature provided. I understand that some of these women were very under-endowed and needed some enhancement for self esteem issues. And I understand that for some women, the surgery is prompted by non elective surgical interventions.
What I cannot understand is how SO MANY women have opted to undergo surgery to bet bigger boobs, to attract a mate? or to prompt other women to envy? To make themselves into the ideal shape, as determined by the media?
What are the thoughts of the members of TN? Are implants REALLY needed in this widespread a fashion?
I for one dont see the need for implants. I have dated ladies with large breasts and small and it never really made any differance to me. But for women, the size ofbreasts are something that can be seen whether dressed or nude. Many women may feel insecure having smaller breasts. I for one know that if I had the money to waste I would get my "member" enlarged, so I can see where it is a factor. And as you stated it could have been due to some unforseen medical actions that a complete rebuild of the breasts were necessary. Breast cancer is more and more common nowadays.

Very good question DJ. Imho, yes they look great! ..... but for me, that's where it ends.
Despite the fact that I am definitely a breast man, unless a girl really, really needs them,
I think that from her guys point of view, they are a big NO NO.
Apart from the obvious need to replace them at some time(S) and the dangers involved,
not to mention the expense, I'm sure I would not be able to forget that they were fake,
and would not enjoy intimacy as much (especially if they felt cold) I really could not encourage
my wife to take such a risk, and would always worry about her future.
I think these young girls are crazy, and are bound to eventually regret it, even if it does
all go without a hitch, and to have it all go wrong, just doesn't bear thinking about.
Interesting answers.
I am also shamelessly attracted to a nice set, but I also have a revulsion to the artificial look of most implants.
My sweetheart has her own original equipment, so she wonders about this question too.
BTW......There is a procedure available for men, if you feel your member is too small or not pleasing enough, a sugeon in Montreal has been doing surgeries to enlarge penis's ( peni)?
For myself, I would never consider it, but the option is out there for us too gents!
How about that, would you as a man be willing to undertake this procedure?

Don't need it. I bought all the "enhancement" products that i read about in my spam email, and now I can use it as a belt for my robe.
For those with Holmes envy: Male Penis Enlargement Surgery Can Increase Penis Size, But...
I have no idea why the site used the term "Male Penis", as though there is another kind.
LOL NIMA, I would never have it done either. I didnt' try the enhancement products though, I don't have Holms envy.
J3nnif3r, you made some good points. A friend of mine had them at insistance of her husband, even though she didn't need them. They also did not save their marraige. It was hard to tell that she had it done, was only a tiny scar visable to show it, except you could feel the corner of the implant.
Implants could be used for any number of reasons, but usually to make breasts larger. My wife had the opposite problem, way too much to start with, and her friends would often tease her by asking if they could "borrow" some of what she had. She has since had reduction surgery and is all the better for it.
Maybe I should start a new thread with this, but I'll ask the question here anyway: Women with breasts that are too largeare known tocomplain of back or neck pain. The medical establishment says this is due to the breasts themselves. However, my wife never had back pain. She ALSO never wore a bra since she could never find any that fit her. I wonder if the establishment might be targetting the wrong culprit. Maybe the BRAS are what cause the back and neck pain. That's her theory, anyway.
So far guys ok...that is your point of veiw, but there are many many reasons besides being more attractive and what not that women get their breast augmented. 1. some women get augmentation because of deformity (you would never know when looking of course) 2. some women just like them to sit "perky" and an augmentation does not always increase breast size but will help "where the girls sit" (up and waving or down and sitting elsewhere) 3. some women get what is called a reduction, and later want fuller perky breast and will opt to augment at that time 4. some women, were not born women, and have to have an augmentation in order to have breast 5. some want to "fit in" 6. some need them for their "job" (this one is not technically a nudist veiw point but from that of a exotic dancer) 7. some are doing it to "keep their man" 8. some want to plan feel better about themselves 9. some like how fake boobs look and want that look 10. some are just addicted to PS and that is the only thing left 11. some are replacing breast after a mastectomy (due to cancer)
J3nn, the original question was, "Are implants REALLY needed" I'm sure none of us would disagree
with a anyone that "needed" implants for a variety of very valid reasons, including those that do it
because they were not given anything in the first place.
What I and a few others here are saying is, that to do it when it's not really necessary, just to enhance
an already fairly adequate bust, is not that desirable and might not turn out to be the wisest choice.
Of course to be able to have a reduction, is for some, an absolute godsend, and is not likely to cause
the need for any further surgery or risk.
I'm just soooooo glad I'm a guy!
Our thoughts are with you!
If a woman wants it and can afford it, go for it.
I don't like surgery and happily, Mother nature gave me adequate breasts. I've not worn a bra in over 6 years (or longer - lost track of how long). I am very comfortable without a bra playing volleyball, running, etc.
Someone mentioned a while back that a similar procedure for men would be penis enlargement, but this is not the same at all. The closest equivalent for men is testicular prosthesis where a man has a prosthetic testicle implanted to relpace one or sometimes both natural ones lost through disease or injury. Just about all men losing a testicle in this way receive a replacement to prevent loss of self-esteem. I have also read of cosmetic surgery clinics offering to replace testicles perceived as being too small, with larger prostheses or implanting smaller versions of 'chicken fillets' that cling to the testicles inside the scrotum making them look bigger. They must be mad!
