Post Flagging & Tracking

What does flagging a post do?
This site really needs a tutorial, written or video, on how it works and why. I've had to try and figure everything out for myself with some help from other users.
How does one track their own posts, or follow them if you will?

Click on the word FORUMS above.

Go the Forums page - in the upper right hand corner you will see
a "Search Forum" box click on that a new page will open - search
for your username.
