My guess is evolution. As the species evolved the man and woman grew to be different but similar???

RE: why do men have nipples?

Speaking of reproduction, isn't it interesting that all living species managed to discover how to reproduce...

What has that to do with the topic?

RE: why do men have nipples?

Because, when the fetus forms, the genitalia are the last to happen, so the nipples are present in every fetus until the moment its sex is determined.

RE: why do men have nipples?

Remember way back when you started puberty? Your nipples were always hard and even the rubbing of a T-shirt made them hurt? I hope you do, cause mine sure did, and I'd hate to find out that I'm the only one!

Someone asked what that has to do with the topic. Well I think it's a very good reason to have them.
If you asked "how is it that men have nipples?" that's different. Then you can refer to all the bio-science. (serious stuff)

RE: why do men have nipples?

The genetic code for nipples is not contained on the sex chromosomes, XY. So, being male or female does not affect whether you have them or not.
Being male or female will determine what hormones you produce after puberty, which is why girls grow breasts and boys don't. Mess with hormones and you can get men to grow breasts. Not recommending it, just saying it biologically happens.

It gives men another body part to pierce.

So true. I pierced both mine twice (one horizontal and one vertical in each). And they are sensitive places to get the hormones going.
