Nude Beaches on Oahu.
Each and every year, when we are making up our Holiday List, of where we are wanting to be going this year......besides our own "Favourite place" ....in the entire world.....which is "Terra Cotta" in Palm Springs, Hawaii......always is right behind her. Each and every year......Hawaii is on our List....and each and every year......we just cross it off, for various reasons. We LOVE Hawaii......how can you not?But......I am sure, that you can all relate, to this dilemma of ours.......based on the fact, that we can not Holiday any where....where Clothing Optional..... is not an option! We have been Spoiled, and we have seen the Light....as far as not wearing anything, while Tanning and enjoying the Sun, during our Holidays to the Sun.Well, for "us"....that is not necessarily completely true, for the simple fact....that we both love to have a least , some distant memories of our time spent BAKING in the Sun.....by having tiny Tan Lines, so we both love to Tan....while wearing the Tiniest G Strings that we can possibly find.Hey....we LOVE being Totally Naked...once the Sun goes down.....but......when we are Tanning.....we want something at the end of the day, and at the end of the "BILLS"..... "to Show" ....for all of those Endless Hours, spent in the Sun! LOLSo, Clothing Optional definitely works for us.Having said that......there is absolutely NOTHING for any of us, in Hawaii. There are no "Terra Cotta's" in Hawaii ( Or anywhere else, for that matter.....Terra Cotta is the BEST, Hands Down! ) there are no designated Nude Beaches.....there are no Clothing Optional Pools, at any of the Hotels or Resorts.Yes....there is Little Beach....but....it is so remote, that it makes getting there, no fun at all.Been there - Done that, as far as the desolate remote beach thing goes. Each to their own, but for us, we like to be around Civilization - Hotels, Shopping , Restaurants, People watching ....did I mention "Shopping"??? lolFor us, Oahu and Waikiki....has it all.If we are wanting remote and seclusion, we have the North Shore just 45 minutes away, if we are wanting the "Shopping" - "Restaurants" - the Night Life - Civilization , did I mention "Shopping"?..... we have all the Hotels right downtown.Till now, Hawaii was always been in the back of our minds, but....was always cast aside, due to the very conservative nature of the Islands.Well....we have been doing a bit more research, and after taking our search and our questions directly to the Locals.....we now have a much different view of Oahu. This is what our research has come up with.Yes.....there is Nude Tanning going on, on Oahu......which is great news, for any of those...who are thinking about checking them out, at some point. It seems as if Polo Beach, on the North Shore... is the Number One favourite beach, for Tanning Nude at.It is a scenic 45 minute - to an Hours drive, from the Downtown hotels.....and it is vey easy to find and get to.The beach looks gorgeous and beautiful....and the Swimming is Safe......as long as the Big Wave season, is not happening.Polo Beach is not designated as a Nude Beach ( as Nudity is still Illegal in Hawaii ) .....but.....everyone knows.....that it is just accepted as being a Nude Beach, and no one expects any thing less. The next beach that appeals to us, is Diamond Head Beach.....which is located right underneath the Lighthouse, and there is ample parking there, or... it is a nice healthy walk. from the Downtown Hotels. The beach is small in size, and it gets smaller with High Tide, but the close proximity to the Hotels, is what puts that one, at the top of our list.Once again, Nudity is not allowed in Hawaii.....but.....if you are discretely enjoying the Sun, no one is going to say a thing or bother you.The other beach, that is highly recommended for Nude Sun Tanning at, is Sand Beach or Sand Point, which is located out by the Airport, as if you are heading towards Pearl Harbour. It is just a 20 minute drive or bus ride, from the Downtown Hotels.....so it is a lot closer, than driving all the way out to Polo Beach, would be.The beach is fairly Large ( So High Tide, does not effect this beach ) .....sandy white beach....with views of Diamond Head and Waikiki, off in the distance.Since we are looking for Nude beaches on Oahu, that are close to our Hotel.....this beach, would be our second option, for use....on a daily basis. We will for sure, check out.....Polo Beach for at least one day, but.....we are City people, and being able to Tan all day long and then hit the Shops afterwards....is what works for this couple.So....with this new info and input from the locals, on the Nude Beaches that are on Oahu......it definitely sheds a New Light, on us for heading over to Hawaii, for a look see.Once again, the only issue is, that Nudity is still not Legal in Hawaii or on their beaches.....but.....they apparently turn a Blind Eye to it.....as long as you are discrete, and Tanning... is all that you are doing. As we were saying..... for us, we would still be Tanning while wearing our G Strings.....( We LOVE Tan Lines lol ) so technically, we would not be Totally Naked.....so we are Safe, that way.But.....if it were not for these 3 Nude Beaches, we would be Forced and Required to wear Board Shorts for him and her in a Bikini with her Top ON....and THAT.....does not work for us, at all.Till now, we have seen no mention of these beaches on Oahu, so we just thought, that we would spread the word.Nudity is not yet legalized in Hawaii.....but....neither is Speeding, or Turning against a Light , or Cheating on your Taxes.....but some, still do it! lolAt least Hawaii, turns a Blind eye, to the Nudity on those 3 beaches...where as the Traffic Courts and the Tax Man, unfortunately DO NOT!

Not sure how I missed this post last year, but I'll give you some
insight. Be very wary on Diamond Head. It used to be
very tolerated there, but you are likely to get ticketed now.
Polo Beach is technically legal now (Case Law - See

)
AnotherI visited on a regular basis, though it means wading
out to it, and you need to be cognizant of the tide is Malaekahana
State Recreation Area in Laie. Wadeout to the
island. The North West beach is great. Nice shallow
water, and a reef blocks the big waves. The
surfers go to the other side, where the waves are much
larger. Every time I went and others were there, after asking
if they minded if I went nude, they would laugh and say that's why
they were there, but didn't want to be the first to strip.
One other is where the old nudist camp was. Park in the
Turtle Bay Resort (Northern tip of Oahu) free lot (Need to get
there fairly early), and hike out to the old camp. It is not
as nice of a beach, and you may have to put up with the smell from
the shrimp farm, but it has lots of hiking area too along the old
runways.
