April is National Grilled Cheese Month
I'm not sure who decided this, but the month of April every year is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Month. I've been making grilled cheese sandwiches every night, and came up with this recipe:
Put two slices of American cheese between two slices of bread. In between the two slices of cheese, put some thinly sliced tomato, seasoned with Mrs. Dash or your choice of seasoning.
Butter each side of the sandwich on the outside (for me this gets rather messy, since there's nothing to hold on to that isn't buttered).
Put a little olive oil in a hot skillet and drop in the sandwich. Sprinkle some fresh ground pepper on the top. Heat on one side for about two minutes, then flip over and heat on the opposite side for a couple more minutes.
Do you have a special way of making a grilled cheese sandwich?
