Nudist Friends
I originally joined this sight because I'm new to social nudism. I figured this would be a good place to start since a lot of you have been in the game most of my adult life. Some most of my life. In the time that I've been on here, I've noticed a definite segregation situation.
I'm a gay man, which seems to put me in a weird situation. Gay men and lurkers just want to see my pics, straight men assume I wanna sleep with them, and women assume I'm just another guy trying to see their pics.
One of the things that attracted me to nudism was the lack of judgment on what you wore. Growing up blue collar, I wore a lot of hand me downs and none name brand clothes, so a lot of better off kids treated me like I wasn't as good as they were. Don't even get me started on the gays.
Is sexual orientation/Gender the nudist equivalent of clothing shame, or am I just trying to chat up the wrong kind of people?
Thoughts?
My philosophy is that nudism is about doing things that you would normally do, only naked. Further, nudists are no more asexual than our textile counterparts. We simply recognize that being naked doesn't automatically lead to sex. But when sexual activity does occur most textiles and nudists alike know that it should be done in a matter appropriate to the situations. That's not to say that there aren't some who blur the lines of appropriate behavior in both the textile and nudist worlds. But in general, people are people.
Whether a person is gay or straight, textile or nudist, etc. does not automatically endow them with specific traits and ethics whether good or bad. Nor are individuals representative of their or an entire group. They merely represent themselves as individuals.
The sexual focus of such a high proportion of your interactions doesn't really reflect nudism, it reflects the internet. An awful lot of people on the site are living in a fantasy world. (This is how the Ashley Madison site managed to rake in big bucks selling the fantasy of extramarital sex, when in fact it had virtually no women members.) You'll do best just to disregard the nonsense, and look for the real folks, of which there are some.
