So what's a 'perv'

I know it may seem to be a silly question but I've noticed a lot of people and forums that want to get rid of pervs. I agree with these ideas in general but what exactly is a perv. I bet if I asked 100 people I'd get 100 different definitions. OK I suppose the obvious is someone who hides in the dunes at the nude beach and masturbates but how would they manifest themselves on this site so we could 'get rid of them'? I consider myself a normal hetro male so yes, I like looking at nude women and yes, if the opportunity arose and with mutual consent I might want to havesex - so am I a perv in anyone's definition?
Anyway, your turn, I'd like to hear your definitions (as long as you don't say "yes, you are a perv - lol"

RE: So what's a 'perv'

What the hell does nudism have to do with Sex? If people would ever learn to diferentiate (sp) between the two then the whole world might be a whole lot better place. Especially the south.
Well nudist have sex just like everyone else. I in no way suggest I'm on this site in order to meet people to have sex with but as a normal human being IF I met someone here or anywhere else I wouldn't say 'I'm a naturist so I never have sex' that would be daft!! Any social network (electronic or otherwise) allows people with similar hobbies and lifestyles to meet which can result in marriage and babies - nothing new there. If people read the original post they will notice there are a lot of 'conditions' around the sex bit, it certainly isn't the reason I want to meet other nudist but if I'd listed all the reasons why I'm a nudist and want to meet others noone would have read to the end.
All I'm saying is that before people try to 'get rid of pervs' they need to try and define what they mean and then take a long hard look at themselves and make sure they aren't trying to kick themselves off the site. There are still some small minded people in the World who would say all nudists or all gays are pervs!!

RE: So what's a 'perv'

pervert(p r-vrt )
tr.v. perverted, perverting, perverts
1. To cause to turn away from what is right, proper, or good; corrupt.
2. To bring to a bad or worse condition; debase.
3. To put to a wrong or improper use; misuse. See Synonyms at corrupt.
4. To interpret incorrectly; misconstrue or distort: an analysis that perverts the meaning of the poem.
n. (pr vrt )
One who practices sexual perversion.

As you say, there can be hundreds of definitions depending on who you ask. And looking at the above it can be (mis)used by almost anyone to lable those who do not share their beliefs of what is "right", "good" or "corrupt" for example.

But on this site, at the end of the day one question needs to be answered: "Does the behavior of ANY individual(s) actually violate the rules of the site?"

IMHO, everyone is entitled to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" as long as it does not infringe upon the ability of others to enjoy the same.
In the real world this is controlled by the rules and laws of our society. And the authority to interpret if individuals are violating these rules and laws rests with specific individuals (e.g.; police and judges). And if we feel our personal rights are being violated we can report this to the appropriate authorities and let them deal with the individuals.
If we choose to take matters into our own hands we can be found guilty of violating rules and laws ourselves.
On this sitethe "rules and laws" come in the form ofthe terms of service. The authority to interpret if individuals are violating these rules rests with the administrators of the site. And just like in the real world we have methods of reporting those who (we believe) violate the terms of service to the administrators.
But just like in the real world, those who choose to take matters into their own hands we can be just as guilty as those we believe are the "pervs".
In summary, if people believe others are violating the terms of service they should report it to the administrators through the proper channels and move on. But I believe if individuals choose to post negative public judgments of others, they are just as guilty and should be reported as well.

RE: So what's a 'perv'

Gerry, What you posted IMHO is 100% acurate. Those who try to bring sexuality into nudism, try to change nudism into something else.

As stated in the definitiion, a pervert is someone who goes against the social norm of the stated community rules/laws. Since nudism has nothing to do with sex, those who try to add a sexual component to nudism/naturism, those individuals are perverts - Sociology statement that is very acurate.

:) Cheri
