A Different Perspective
Sometimes, we 'old folks' like to get young people's perspectives on the naturist lifestyle and how they feel about being nude. It's a fresh, different perspective. I know that there are perverts and weirdos in the mix, but I hope that's not the majority of us. Young people, just because we're not your age, that doesn't mean we're evil. We also enjoy the viewpoints of naturists of other backgrounds and demographics.
A great subject. We have a non-landed club and although we continue to grow, most of our newer members are empty nesters or retired couples. We would like to know what we can do differently to attract younger members. Maybe I should say younger women members. If we get the women the men won't be far behind.
When I was in my early twentys I wasn't a naturist. I liked spending time naked, and loved to be naked outdoors, but I never concidered myself a naturist.
If I was going to join a club, it would have been something where I would meet other people my age (girls) and do the things 20somethings do.
The reason only empty nesters and retired people join naturist clubs, is because they now can, and don't have to drag the kids along.
The kids are not interested, many might go skinny dipping and use nude beaches as I did, but don't want to hang around naked with older people in a social club.
They might one day, when their own kids leave home.
One problem with resorts for young people and some of us older folks on fixed income is that if you visit more than one or two times you are required to join. Most people prefer to pay on day to day basis. Most people would come more often if they didn't have to pay a yearly fee.
This does seem to be a very common problem. Long established clubs, with long established members tend to enforce the rules making it unattractive to younger people. I've been to 2 swims, one is the typical older naturist group, 90% male, but a nice group of people who make you feel welcome. The other is a weekly nude swim open to anyone, that attracts 60+ people, mostly male, but a much wider age group, in fact the majority are 30 or under. Same applies when you see the WNBR, there's the usual old reserve of middle age men, but there's also a large number of young men and women who enjoy the thrill.
