Simply ask

Today, I decided to simply ask...so to speak....in a note. I was sitting out nude, on my front porch...Monday....enjoying one of Oklahoma's fake spring days (in Feb). The sun was bright and warm, and it just felt wonderful to be out of the house. My front porch is protected from passing cars/walkers/bikers..by a hedge....that only shows us from the shoulders up when sitting. The truck in the drive shields the view on the open end of the porch. Was soaking in the sun, when the mailman made an early stop, we made eye contact when he stopped at the curb, saw me get up and go in the house. Today, was sitting out again, and I decided to ask ...in a note....left for the mailman...if I had needed to leave my porch..into the house when he made his stop. Was a simple note, referring to the notice we had on the mailbox...for a time.. about this being a nudist household. In my note, I asked if he would be offended if he encountered me or my wife nude on the front porch...and if it was not an issue...just leave my note in the mailbox....or if it would be an issue...simply keep/dispose of the note...closing with..."NO note=No nudity" Wife and I had an errand to run, but when we returned home, the note was in the mailbox...and it was signed by our postman....that he had NO Problems....with us nude...if/when he sees us.....sometimes it just that simple.....just ask....

That's what nudists are, honest and up front! No harm is caused by asking! Great that you have an understanding postman (maybe he is a home nudist also!).

Just ask, is right. It's how I have handled my nude lifestyle since I began living it. Getting it out in the open at least allows everyone to be informed, ask questions and get it all out in the open. I have found that often the open communication can lead to compromise and everyone is at least at ease.

I wish I could sun outside but there is no privacy around my house.

In our case, we simply tell. We have a sign on our driveway that anyone has to pass before they get into our yard (our driveway is 500 feet long).

Anyone knocks on the door, I answer nude unless it is cold. No one has seemed bothered by it.

I asked out postie and he had no problems and vouched for his relief having no problems either.

It's encouraging to know that just asking can work. Thanks for the story!

Great stories all. Wouldn't it be great, as suggested, if we all could just walk or bike fully nude in our neighborhoods and eventually venture beyond without anyone claiming offense or alarm?

Yup. My back garden is overlooked for the most part by one neighbor. A middle aged lady who lives alone. One day were chatting and I explained that I went nude when she was out and asked if she'd be offended if I did so when she was in. She was fine with it and even mentioned she should try it some time- never has though!
