$75 Million for a nude video?

Erin Andrews is claiming $75 Million in a lawsuit because a peeping tom published a video of her naked in a Nashville Hotel
The creep who took the videos is not on trial, the Hotel is. I wonder why Erin is suing the hotel? Could it be they have a stack of money and the creep doesn't?

Erin's privacy was violated but her claim for $75 Million seems like she's looking to profit from her misfortune. The Hotel did break a confidence in letting a stranger know her room number, but they are not guilty of the actual privacy violation, the peeping tom is.
Good for Erin that I'm not on the Jury, I wouldn't be up for a huge award, just enough to cover her costs of cleaning up her reputation.
Nashville has been in the naked news a lot lately :-)

From an Australian perspective, has Erin's reputation taken a tumble? I doubt it. What with the skimpy outfits she wears, has her reputation been ruined. Sounds like a grab for money.

Being a male nudist that obviously my career is not in a national spotlight, I couldn't give a judgement or perspective of what would be fair. Some people are seriously traumatized by such acts which is beyond my understanding and others are not at all.
Feb 2015 when we were in a hotel the day before leaving on the Nude Cruise. I found a peep hole etched in the dressing mirror that had a view of most of the room. I showed the wife and we both laughed about it. It did not hamper our routine in the least. It was a large chain Hotel and all the rooms were being renovated anyway so to me it wasn't even worth a mention. Secondly I couldn't understand the desk clerks english when we checked in.

From what I heard she is suing the hotel because the creep called the front desk to get her room number and they told her where she was.He then got the room next to hers and using a lens or modified peephole, used his cell phone to get video.
This was the third time he has done this to someone.
She is suing him as well, just not for 75 million.
He is a creep.

Oh well she 'only' got $55 Million.
How ridiculous that the jury puts such a high price on your naked body getting out in public. Here we all are here doing it for free and happy to do so.

Only in America! Land of the religiously obsessed, sexually repressed and financially depressed. Land of the Free? Not so much.

I think what grabs my butt on this story is here is a woman sports reporter that has the right to go in to the locker rooms and interview male or female sports players. Do you remember the hype about women sports reporters in the locker rooms case? It didnt matter how the players felt and it also changed the personalities of many locker rooms. Im not defending the idiot that did this nor the hotel. But not sure her body is worth 55 million any more than mine is. How too does this impact the drone issues when they capture us nudists? Our privacy too gets invaded and we the nudist could be charged. Cant help but think the jury could have been swayed a bit by the fact she was a famous personality.

I'm glad she got the settlement she deserved. She was being STALKED. He could have very easily taken advantage of the peep hole to know when she was going to step outside her room. All he had to do was stand next to her door and and soon as she opened the door he's in with a good chance of security cameras not being noticed until it was too late. This is about violation of a person's privacy and safety.

Very good points.

She may feel violated again when the Lawyers and the IRS get done
rifling through that 55 million.

Most are predicting a higher court will reduce the figure. But she will never collect a dime from the guy who took the photos.

The Goldman's were awarded 30 million from OJ for the death of a son. This woman was awarded 55 million for what was done wrong to her.
Does that make any sense?
