A NEW ERA
Sorry but I gotta rant.
I have been in and back in the military. We are becoming so sinsitized a out our bodies. Afraid to be naked and in some cases can't be naked as I have posted in another thread. Base gym steam rooms and saunas. Now for our physical fitness training at the pool women are to wear suits and then coverup with pt uniform and men are to wear of uniform( shirt and shorts). Wtf. So I'll be wearing my grandpas suit before long.
Then we are accepting now to all sexual orientations now (LGBT) which doesn't bother me about their preference but you would think we would be accepting of nudity when same sex orientation shares spaces together(showers, lockers, birthing, etc) but opposites can't. Mind boggling to me.
I can't peak on how it is in the military, but in sci-fi military, if you recall the movie Starship Troopers, women and men were in one locker room with women topless. So who knows, maybe someday we will get there.
People who are gay, LGBT etc have had a very hard struggle getting to where they are and that is because they have 'come out" and brought their fight to the forefront. Where as the majority of nudists are still happy just being back in the corner not making a fuss until an issue comes up that might affect them.
People are scared to come out of the "nudist closet" but that may be what it takes and one would think it would be easier since gay, LGBT etc is a sexual preference and true nudism is basically a clothing choice, or lifestyle choice. In its true form, it has NOTHING to do with sexuality.
Come on fellow nudists, be proud of your choice!"I am behind you all the way men, that way when we turn and run, I'll be in front." - Bill Cosby, Comedian

Not only is skin something to be kept hidden. Simply touching is innapropriate as well, including high-fives

A new era indeed. It is a sick era.
This last fall I was at a Hot Springs resort( privately owned) where it is not clothing optional until after nine pm. and was soaking in the water and in came a new group of people. This younger guy that came in was wearing trunks that went clear below his knees and a heavy tee shirt with long sleeves. I do not understand how that would be comfortable when wet. I was wondering why he did not just wear his street clothes into the pool.

I hear you, the college guys at our local beach wear super long shorts, and I've seen people go into the water with t-shirts on. Very odd attire for a nude beach, and we all know how comfortable wet clothes are, especially when you get out of the water. Ugh!

Not sure 'Bill Cosby' is the right person to quote?
Come to Vietnam, no nude beaches and many of the locals appear not to own swimming costumes as the go swimming at the beach in their street clothes.
I like others on here having to wear costumes to swim is not good and it was funny to see my wife strip off her bikini after swimming one day and cover up in a thin wrap on a non nude beach. When I asked her why she did it she said the wet bikini felt yuk. Boy was I proud of her being that she is a recent convert to he nudist lifestyle.
