Confident?
Return to DiscussionsI became confident being nude after I joined TN 3 years ago. I had had heart surgery and a year later, cancer surgery, I was embarrassed with the scars that they left. It took some courage to post my first nude photo, along with an apology for the scars. The response was overwhelming, and built my confidence so much, my profile is full of nude photos. I now believe they are not scars of surgery , but are badges of survival. That is how "my" confidence was built. How about you?
Thank you

Hi Miev,
Thanks for sharing that... I really didn't notice your scars until you posted this... You look amazing, and you look so comfortable and as you said confident in all your pics!! I was morbidly obese most of my life. I weighed 450lbs and am now at 185...needless to say I have a lot of loose flesh on this body that really used to embarrass me very much. Like you, I've received a lot of encouragement from our great group of naked friends and acquaintances here and on other sites. I don't think I have as much confidence as you do, but am working on it!!
Thanks very much for posting this!!

My hang up has always been my size. Both weight and genital as well as getting an erection around others. I gained confidence at Valley View earlier this year when i took off my robe outside in the view of others and there were no laughs or stares or erections. We had normal conversations just like we have had at all of the textile hot springs we have been too. It was so natural and freeing that now I crave it. My quest to learn more about the lifestyle has led me to this site where my confidence has been boosted by the friends I have made here.
Thank you all!
Thanks miev. As a child the only surgery I had was my appendix out in 1963. At the time that procedure was quite common and I never thought a thing about the scar it left. From that time up to when I was about to retire from the Navy I had no other operations. At my retirement physical the DR. found some of my blood gasses elevated and long story short I had to have Kidney surgery before I could retire. The day I checked in for surgery the surgeon said that instead of entering through the abdomen he was going to make the incision from just above my pubic area and it extended form there around my left side and stopped pretty much behind my left chest. (22 inches)
So now I had two scars on my belly. That was the start, I have had two more surgeries since then so now I have a pretty good road map in front. When I actually realized I was a nudist I didn't give my scars a second look or thought. they are just part of me and to this day I have never had any rude comments about my scars. I know I am not model perfect but I do like my body as it is and I think that is what counts. Besides maybe I'm nuts but I like to be looked at and am proud of my age lines.
.... True nudists will support you genuinely and authentically regardless of your physical appearance.......!
Well put and so true. Its worth putting up with wading through the fakes on here and other nudist sites to find the genuine nudists. Just as in our lives as nudists locally, its this that ranks highly in what we appreciate about social nudism, its replicated to varying degrees with other nudists online, we are who we are and others accept each other that way and the true nudists tend to be far more accepting.
Ten years ago, I had a breakdown. Then I spent several weeks in a clinic. There, a doctor gave me the tip to live my own life. Before that, I lived the life of a secret naturist. Back home, I told my from the tip of the doctor and my desire to be only naked at home (in- and outdoor. Because we always slept naked and moved so in the apartment during the night, it was okay.
My wife is my hero.
My real coming-out happened when I registered on TN and released my first nude photos.
TN gave me the confidence to come out as a nudist. Until then I'd been getting naked in secret thinking it was something to be ashamed of, even though I enjoyed it. Then, through TN, I discovered that us nudists are normal, rounded people = nothing to be ashamed of. Very soon I found a nudist resort and ventured into social nudity. The rest is history. I've never looked back.
