Welcome back
Return to DiscussionsWe had a great time. Met some great people. We had room 6255 which was a state room. Room was great, bed perfect, balcony was very nice. Employees on the ship were so nice. Great meeting them also. Food was amazing. Hamburgers on the top deck were delicious, pizza was very good and it was available all night. The steakhouse on the 11th floor. A must do! Views, and the food and the employees were top notch. Yes you had to get dressed, but you can wear sexy clothes. Which is fun and its own right.
Things for people to remember next year. Do not get the drink package! Cost was too high. For water down drinks.
For you 11th floor steakhouse restaurant is excellent. Plan on eating there as much as you can.
Got off ship in Key West. Did the tour, then went to the enchantment bar third-floor. Got naked with everybody else. Was funny to be naked in town and at a bar.
The employees work on that ship for seven months. Remember their names to give them better reviews. So they can get a raise or a better position in the future.
The ports of call are tourist traps! So if you want to stay on the ship and enjoy it, do so. Not many people around the pool and the sunning deck. The tan through bathing suit worked great.
Make sure you get the cruise director Frankie , naked more often. LOL
I found a great spot to get pictures was on the front of the ship in an area called the arcade. It feels like a cave tunnel with port holes. But a great spot to get pictures. Quiet, yes those pictures. LOL
Make sure you get in the group picture, so you have something to remember in the future.
The bad things that happened on the ship. Was mostly carnival cruise. Turning the Jacuzzis off at night at 10:00 PM. Watering down the drinks. (I was drinking Jamison on the rocks and doing the drink package, never got drunk!). Oh dont get the bathrobe, theyre small and too expensive. I did get the cheap Wi-Fi package that was a joke.
The up selling of their stores for jewelry watchers and shopping, what a joke.
Bare Necessities did a great job organizing everybody.
As for the future I probably will never do a cruise again. Its not something we need to do. It might be for other people. But Id rather go to a nudist resort.
But I want to thank everyone that I met on the ship. It was fun meeting you all. I was the guy with the red bandanna. And thank you to all the employees on the ship for making it a great experience.
Jim and Marie
I agree with Jim and Marie's comments. We had a great time on the cruise, met some really fun and interesting people. We did enjoy the excursions, even though we had to change some of them due to the weather conditions. But one nice thing that came out of the Cozumel cancellation was that my wife and I got to get together with a high school friend that happened to be in Cozumel at the same time. We got a very personal, rather than touristy, view of Cozumel. We had fun on our Jungle ATV Adventure (as you can see from the photo) and enjoyed seeing the Mayan ruins
Anyway, it was an experience, and one that we enjoyed, but there are so many places we want to go and see that it will probably be a long time before we go on a cruise again of any kind. Take care all.
.
I'd say it will be a long time before we cruise again, but we booked a textile one for Labor Day week when we got back (before everything hit the fan). We will see if cruises have started back up again by then. If not, we have flights to Orlando and two nights at Cypress Cove before the cruise. If at least that is reopened, we could try to lengthen our stay and/or go back to Lake Como for a few days.
I spent time before and after at various Pasco County Resorts, and think I had a better time there than on the cruise. Yes I enjoyed the cruise, but I had an equal if not better time at the resorts. Big plus on cruise was it was easy to organize meals.
