Return to DiscussionsI was just in the Hospital for pneumonia. I was there for a week. the first two days I had underwear and a shirt along with Hospital gown on. Than I asked to take a shower. On the Third day I only had my Hospital gown on. Everyone Doctor and Nurse saw my package. I than had to take showers for two more procedures. Than the Nurses got a full view of my body. I had to have help getting a shower. I was not a shamed of what they saw or what they were thinking. I was proud to show off and I even told one of the Nurses helpers, I am a nudist. She smiled and continued to help me with shower.

As a Nurse myself.. we are there to take care of patients, and not to focus on the Nude body. We see so many shapes and sizes that we some times become immune to nudity.

I was admitted to hospital after drowning myself in a nude only swimming pool. I remember being taken through A&E for assessments (each medick checking me out) totally naked. Finally (maybe not that long) I was admitted to intensive care. Once there the first action was for a young female nurse to insert a catheter in my penis. Then I was covered in monitoring electrodes and had a tube in each arm before being put on a respirator (I'd been on oxygen up to then). And I stayed naked, wired and plumbed in for a week. I remember fighting the blood oxygen level monitor - when it looked likely to beep I breathed deeply.
I can only guess what some Corona virus patients are going through - all that and a fever too.
BTW my clothes arrived at the hospital a week later. I don't own any PJ's or undies.
Olly, why did they leave you naked in bed in the hospital? I thought they would at least put a blanket on you! Hope it wasn't too painful to have a catheter in your penis!
The ward was warm. I was covered in pipes and wires which would have got tangled up in bed clothes. The catheter was no at all painful - until the nurse pulled it out.
