Doctor, I Am Fully Naked!
Have you been through medical exam fully naked? How about cystoscopy and/or colonoscopy? What were the experiences like? [CYSTOSCOPY is the procedure where a doctor examines the lining of the bladder and the urethra by a cystoscope into the penis. COLONOSCOPY is the procedure where a doctor examines the colon (large intestine) and rectum by inserting a colonoscope (a long, flexible tube) into the...
Colorado Nude Physical
Return to DiscussionsAre there any doctors in the area that give nude physicals? ... After moving to a PCP from pediatric care I was never asked to remove any clothing. I always worry about accuracy if they can't actually see what they are touching underneath shirts or pants etc.
I too am concerned when you are not nude during a physical. This is the only way the doctor can thoroughly examine your body for anything out of the ordinary. I just had a physical and was only asked to remove my shirt. He did not check my testicles or examine my penis. I also am on the lookout for a doctor that gives nude physicals. It will make me feel a lot more comfortable with his analysis and examination.
COSGUYAJ, Wolfsteve raises very important points and gives great advice. Search until you find the right doctor. I never thought nudity during a physical would be something anyone would have to ask about. I get a full physical every year and have been doing that for about 30 years now.
In that time I've had three different primary care doctors and I've never had a full physical where I didn't get completely naked at some point. Sometimes when I was going commando I was naked the whole time. When I was in boxers he'd have me drop them for the hernia and digital rectal exams. Sometimes I have stayed naked for a while after that. I'm not a doctor but you really should get checked for a hernia, your doctor should examine your body and how can he do a thorough body exam if you're not nude? I think you should get a digital prostate exam and he should feel your testicles or he should be showing you how to do it yourself. If he's not, google it. And while your at it, google for a new PCP.
While I've never thought about a full nude examination until now, I did have an issue with my PSP who happens to be a woman who I've known for about 25 years due to her husband being one of my employees. When I turned 40 and 50, I was really concerned about getting through physicals just to endure I was in good health. She did a routine check of ther normal stuff like blood pressure, heart rate, glucose levels, etc. However, she was finished and walking out the door when I stopped hert and inquired about my prostate and testicular cancer. She hasn't mentioned either at all but replied to me that she could check these things for me if I really wanted her to do so. So she checked and said everything was okay. This still concerns me because I don't know if she really knew what she was doing or if she was accurate in her findings.
