Biker's laundry day
Return to DiscussionsMy most recent long distance bicycling guest, Jordan, was totally fine with my nudity of the past couple of days but since we did not soak in the hot tub ( way too hot to be inviting) he stayed in shorts himself. But this morning as he getting ready to leave he decided to delay his departure long enough to do a load of laundry. He decided to put all his clothes in and came out of the laundry room nude. That is how he was when I left a half hour later to go to work. Better late than never right? He also posed for the traditional nude pic with his helmet over the " naught bits" He wanted to be sure I added that to my guest book with dozens of past cyclist show skin.

By all his clothes do you mean everything he had with him? If so, then, like your guest who only brought in keys and toiletries had no available clothing, but for a shorter time

i think he threw every item of clothing he had with him in. Bikers travel light . so yes unless he grabbed something of mine which he didn't all his stuff was in the laundry.

Since bikers do travel light like you mentioned, having the opportunity to wash all of their clothing at once and stay nude until the laundry is done must be a significant benefit for bikers who stay with you.
Back in Scouts in the 70s, we were on a 2 week backpacking trip on the appalachian trail. At roughly the halfway point, we saw there was a waterfall not too far from our campsite. Figuring there would be rocks to wash and dry our clothes, we packed all our clothes into two backpacks and hiked to the waterfall. As expected, there were plenty of rocks. We used our biodegradable soap to wash not only what we carried in the packs, but what we wore as well. So 2 adult leaders and about 10 scouts washed our clothes, laid them on rocks to dry in the sun, then played in the water while they dried. Several times, some smart-alec would yell girl-scouts! and the guys would scramble to get down in the water, or behind a rock, etc.
After a couple of hours, the clothes were dry. We all dressed, packed away our extra clothes, and started hiking back to camp. About 5 minutes into our hike, we met a girl scout troop headed to the falls to do laundry!

You mentioned dozens of cyclists. Do you have an approximate number?
