Circumcision needed at 31
Return to DiscussionsHello, I'm 31 years old and I had a surgery last May to solve a problem of short frenulum. The surgery went well, but as a side effect it worsened a state of phimosis I already had. Today I can retract my foreskin only when flaccid, and sadly the doctor told me that circumcision is highly recommended :'( I loved having my foreskin, but now I have no other option and have to get cut. I am a bit scared, because I had lost a lot of sensitivity on part of my glans already, due to the frenulum surgery, and I fear that circumcision would make my glans numb. Also, I am scared of the final appearance, once done you can't go back. Can anyone help me get over this fears, maybe someone who got cut as an adult, and that can actually tell me how everything changes from being uncut to cut? Thank you
I was cut as an adult -- 37.
I had a yeast infection under my foreskin that took six weeks to cure. When I first went to the doctor, about the first thing she said was, "Have you considered getting circumcised?" NOOOOOO!!!!
When I finally got my clean bill of health, I had a different opinion on that and set an appointment to have it done.
I was awake. It was done under local anesthesia. No reason to be knocked out.
The next few days were really bad and I had an extreme case of buyers remorse -- "WHAT THE FUCK HAVE I DONE?!?!?!?!?!"
That was 30 years ago and so very glad I had it done.
What about loss of sensation that the anti-circ'ers scream about all the time? I can happen, but you just as likely to end up with an increase in sensation. You also have a about the same chance of having no change in sensation. It's about a one-third split.
For me, definite increase in sensation. Jerking off and fucking are better without a foreskin. There are different styles. I recommend low-loose and would highly caution against high-tight.
Low means the scare is right behind the corona. The entire shaft has the same color skin -- no abrupt change in color.
Loose means there's extra skin -- which means no lube is required for jerking off.
High-tight is the opposite. The scar is about half-way up the shaft with an abrupt change in color with no extra skin. Must use lube.
I would never go back. If someone said they could magically give me my foreskin back, I'd probably beat them to death and break their wand.
Great story in the Bible about a whole village of in which all of the men get circumcised the same day. A couple of days later, a couple of guys show up and kill all of them. They were unable to defend themselves.
So, be prepared for it to be bad for a few days.
Sorry to hear about your condition, like you I had to get circumcised at 35, despite having my hesitations to have my surgery done, Im very pleased with results and though a little sensitivity is lost, sex is still very enjoyable and now i actually prefer how my penis looks circumcised.

Your largest erogenous zone and most important sex organ is your brain. So I have no doubt that your brain will figure out a way to channel sexual energy and have your feeling good. It might be different, but after all, us cut guys have been getting off for our entire lives without a problem! Good luck!
I got circumcised when I was 11 years old and the way it was done(some people might think this is very barbaric and unsanitized lol) the skin was cut opened like a V shaped u til the whole helmet is showing and then the skin was folded backward and was wrapped in penicillin and bandage. And take note, there is no anesthesia at all but the scissor was boiled in hot water and was soaked in alcohol. Unlike the circumcision they do in the western world, they traced a circular pattern where they need to cut the skin and will totally removed at least and inch or so of the skin. When Im in flaccid state, it looks like that Im only half circumcise as the skin still hide half of my helmet. Most of the skin is located at the bottom of the helmet now.
As for the sensation, one of the guy hit the bullseye in saying the brain is the most sensitive part of the organ hahaha.
I heard that they say the sensitivity will lessen but I cannot compare anymore as Im so a young when I had it cut. But definitely, I still have a lot of sensitivity there and most definitely do it for hygiene purposes as well. Wherever you like it or not, there will always that bad smell when you retract the skin unless you are very good in washing your penis with water whenever you pee.
Go ahead and do it. You will not be sorry at all especially, you are having issues with phimosis. Good luck.
Hi. cut at birth , and luckily i was cut low and loose or perhaps by the vee cut method as i have a large amount of frenum skin tab below the head. . Never had any problems with getting off or enjoying sex. and it sure as hell don't make anyone sterile. I had a brother in law that had his done at 14 due to a condition where the foreskin would grow attached along the edge of corona or the lips of pee opening .. He was scared and ill informed, scared out of his witts by one of them nai sayer type fathers. .. when them uncut men are yakkin let them talk . they have no clue since they never been there. I see some of them have jumped in here to try to further their own agenda rather than help you along,, that is sad and wrong .
Been cut near all my life and no regrets but over time and lots of penis play and some intentional stretching of what i had left, it now covers most of the head when soft and sitting .. It still feels good and if your in pain with it , time to look out for yourself ..

Hello Friend! Yes, I am partially circumcised like you and therefore in a relaxed state the movable skin covers half of my head of the penis ... I had phimosis and at your age I had a partial circumcision in the same way and I am very happy ... over the years my penis became beautiful and very durable ... Thanks for your post ...
