Question: Nudity and drones. Any fears?
Return to DiscussionsI don't care; but would look it as a breach of my privacy and if they ever attempt to use the pictures taken by the drone against me for legal or illegal blackmailing, I shall counter-attack them legally on that very point.
No fears at all, just find it ridiculous drones being used, imposing on everyone's privacy. sounds like being controlled. however with due thanks to competition between powerful nations to spy on each other in warfare terrorism Illegal drug trade, you name it, surveillance didn't stop just there. Pretty sad it had to come to this. As there are more popular subjects, I don't think nudity would be the first target.
I have no fears either, my home is on the flightpath for the local parachute club and lots of microlite aircraft and it doesn't worry me one bit. What is the difference in going to a clothing optional beach and lots of textiles walking by as they seem to do instead of settling down to enjoy the sun
I responded to this question in another group -
"At our local nudist beach we regularly get low flying planes,
ultralights, hang-gliders, coastguard helicopters and small boats -
fishing, 'sightseers' and jet-skis, which are often close enough to see
people looking at us. As others above mention, waves are exchanged
sometimes and it makes no difference to me being seen nude there in this
way. Members of this group live naked and unashamed, so I wouldn't
expect many here to have any fears about being seen nude by all of the
above, plus drones and in other ways. We may be filmed and photographed
nude by them with no idea where the results may be seen or by whom,
personally I don't care who sees me naked, I have no shame about being a
nudist and am open about it.
Nudists who are not so open about living naked could well fear being seen or recorded nude in any of the above ways."
Since then I've thought about how when hiking nude we could be recoded doing so by a drone. Some of them can fly quite high and we may not notice them, when you get near a road the 'authorities' may be waiting for you! I hike nude on my own as well as with friends, its great being naked in natural places, but I don't need a 'public indecency' charge. I heard a news report over the weekend about 'celebrities' having paparazzi drones fly over their homes, will we 'non-celebrities' experience the same when we're nude outside on our properties? The cost of a drone is coming down, their presence is likely to increase, if one flies over our place I won't dive inside or cover up, I'm at home and nude, that's my right as long as I'm not upsetting neighbours or passers by, others may feel less comfortable in this situation.
As mentioned above when we're nude on a public beach textiles are quite likely to be around, some are attracted by the fact that there are naked people present. I don't care who sees me nude there or anywhere else, I'm open about being a nudist. The possibility of being photographed or filmed naked there is not something everyone likes the idea of though drones overhead will put them off even more.
You mention hiking in the forest. These days there are even some cameras in the forests used for forest management, fired control, and biological monitoring. For example, there have used movement activated cameras to monitor movements of coyotes in the Northern California and Oregon. Who knows you may have been on camera and not known it and a biologist need up discovering0 a species called Homo Sapiens in the forest :)
At this point why worry, for one thing the volume of information being collected these days in pictures etc is so overwhelming that the majority gets lost or buried anyway. Also, as pictures of people enjoying life naturally show up more often people will being to realize it is normal, not creepy.

For sure, the more that people are seen enjoying life naturally the more we may be accepted, this could be a positive side of drones capturing images of nudists.
I just thought I'd broach the subject ! If I'm outdoors and nude, frankly I don't give a damn ! I'll justmoon them. Any thoughts?
I'm right there with ya. Besides, it's not a big deal, I'm just naked. Who cares. We have a lot of bigger fish to fry than being seen nude.
I don't care who sees me naked (as long as I'm not upsetting anyone). If someone wants to go to the trouble of flying a drone over me - good luck to them. I'm surprised they can't find something more interesting to view.
I live rural with a sprawling house and acreage around me. Some companies go around and take pics from low flying planesand then print them up , frame them , then go door to door and try to sell them to homeowners. It was Oct 2010 at the peakof Autumn colors on a Saturday. I had been raking leaves in front yard in next to nothing, I took a break, stripped off my 'barely there' shorts and stretched out in the totally private backyard. I do vaguely remember a low flying plane while i dozed but thought nothing of it, living near a grass strip airport i hear them from time to time. Well January 2011 rolls around, and while sprawling in my 'winter nude' an open shirt on the sofa , I hear a knock on the door.I looked out to see a middle aged guy holding a 11x14 framed pic. I knew right away what it was, my house. I opened the door and invited him in. He made no mention of my lack of anything on below the waist. The pic was perfect blue, roofed house framed by the orange trees. I had always wanted one of these to display. Then I looked close. There I was in the pic. Sprawled out face up in the backyard. I joked with guy " no wonder you did not actsurprised when I greeted you like this" He told me " I had a similar pic with a woman clearly nude in the backyard and was hesitantto try for the sale, but when the husband saw it he wanted to buy the biggest print we made" I bought and the pic hangs to this day in my kitchen. Granted it is not 'in your face' since you do have look closely to see that I am skin tone head to toe. But it is the perfect pictaken at the perfect time.So as for drones, let them fly over, whether I am here at home , a nude beach or wherever. They ain't gonna see or takepics of anything that has not been done before.
