Return to DiscussionsMy wife and I enjoy hiking nude in our area's nature preserve trails. These trails are public county maintained land and are not nudist specific. When we go for a hike we arrive early in the morning as to avoid others who may be on the trails ahead of us. We enter the trails clothed and carry along our beach bag with towles to sit on and plenty of water and snacks for energy during the walk. As we're walking in, we get a safe distance away from the parking area and then we strip out of our clothes putting them into the carry bag. We love being nude in nature, enjoying the freedom of having the sunshine and breeze on our bare bodies watching for small woodland animals and birds in the trees singing their songs. On multiple occasions we've observed rabbits, squirrels, river otters, snakes, alligators, turtles, wild hogs among other of God's creatures. It's always a wonderful relaxing time when we get away from the stressors of our daily lives and become free to be nude if only for a few hours. We have been out walking naked on the trails up in the hills near Vera Playa in Spain. Once you get by the cultivated fields it i so good to strip off and just wander. Finding the abandoned Iron Ore mining communities and the tumbling house.
Even net a few Spanish people either walking or on their mountain bikes. Never had any problem us being naked, one couple even stripped off when they stopped to talk. I asked why they did and her reply was "Well you are Naked so we join you".
It was on the plan to return this year, but some virus stopped us.
I've hiked naked in the Siera d'Irta behind a place called Peniscola, roughly half way between Barcelona and Valencia, staying in a small nudist guest house for the week. It's a short walk from the guest house on the edge of the town. Then I strip off and hike all day naked. The Siera has many well marked footpaths and a guide allowing for a different hike each day. I have met other hikers on route. They appear to have a fair acceptance of nudity.
The views are stunning - some of deserted terracing, some of the mountains and valleys and some overlooking the sea. There is even a ruined castle to explore. During the spring the mountains are full of wild flowers. Unfortunately they get burnt off in the summer.
I'm blessed where I live to have a lot of wilderness nearby, and I can find new places to explore nude easily. Often I hike off-trail, which makes getting naked even easier. The downside is that everything is between 2000 and 3000 meters in elevation. Thus the warm season is relatively short, and if you count the buggy month and the hunters in the fall, it is even shorter. Most places I hike, I have to go at least a few minutes away from the trailhead before I strip down.
The main objective to relaxed nude hiking is to find a remote area. I've hiked nude in several US states, mostly on public lands, using trails that are not too popular. A trailhead with an empty parking lot is a good place to start. Pick time and day wisely, either early or late in the day as previously suggested, and avoid weekends and holidays.
I will admit that I've had easier times hiking nude abroad--a few in southern Spain, and a nice group hike in England with an established nude hiking group. It's just more relaxed when you know you're within legal rights, and you're behaving appropriately.
We are lucky here in Arizona, USA. We have at least three nude hiking areas. Its amazing to drive down the road or the highway naked. Get to the parking lot and you can still be naked. Then do the whole hike naked. Go to different ponds or find a different rocks to lay on and get a suntan.
This past summer I was able to go nude camping for different times. Found a great spot in the national forest. Hiking through the pine trees in nature naked is an amazing feeling. Once I found a small valley of wild irises. Amazing feeling walking through them and feeling them against your skin
I'm in southern Australia and I'll either find secluded non CO beaches to enjoy or by rivers and secluded tracks when driving through the bush. It's really using the opportunity when it arises and not being too blatant about it. I find I can enjoy nature like this in lots of locations naked as I want by being discrete.
