He was in desperate need of being laundered. I told my friend that if he left the dog with me, I was going to launder it -- big threat.
So, I launder the dog and have him 99% dry. I need to piss and think that maybe the dog might need to as well. I take him outside to the gravel/dirt driveway and have my piss. He's not interested. When I'm finished, a pick-up truck pulls into my long driveway. (Note: I live out in the country; my house is barely visible from the road; I can be nude outside with very little concern for being seen by someone not on my property.) I was expecting a package late this afternoon to be delivered by UPS. I didn't associate a black pick-up with driver and passenge showing up in the morning with the UPS delivery.
Nonetheless, I never run and hide. I just stood there at my end of the driveway and waited for it to pull up. The driver hops out, goes to the back, and starts looking for something. I hesitantly asked, "UPS?"
The driver said, "Yeah, I'm just a season driver."
I join him at the back of his truck, he finds the package, hands it to me, and cheerfully adds, "Have a great day."
Neither the driver nor the passenger (both male) give any indication that they even noticed I am nude. I felt no need to explain or apologize.
All is well in Nudesville.
And the dog, who only managed to tolerate me before being laundered, sticks right next to me now.
Perhaps it's a case of "keep your friends close; keep your enemies closer."
That was a very good outcome on both counts.
The dog I wasn't all that surprised about; after a while they tend to figure out who's in charge and has no intent to harm them.
The reaction of the UPS guys was less expected. Good for them, not inserting a bunch of drama where it's not needed.
That's mostly been my experience with delivery drivers. They know they're on your property and they know they're not there to evaluate your clothing choices (or lack thereof). Nearly all of them have simply conducted whatever business they were there to conduct. A couple have obviously and painfully averted their gaze. Only one or two have ever voiced any "concern" about my state of dress.
The dog is sleeping on a blanket at my feet.
