Backyard Nudists
This is a group for those who may be Home Nudists or those who cannot always get to a Nudist Colony, Camp, or Resort and therefore take things into their own backyard! Whether your backyard is private enough or not, perhaps you lay out nude, skinnydip, garden, or mow the lawn, this group is for you!
Mostly private back yard
Return to DiscussionsWe live in a small town and have a fence around our back yard. Only one neighbor across the highway from us . If people drive past, the fence slats are spaced far enough apart that drivers can see us naked. Oh well. Our enjoyment of being nude isn't overturned by this. If they see us, they see us.
At the rate of speed most traffic goes by here, the driver better be paying attention to the road ;-) The passengers are another story, especially if they are kids :-( A few years ago I was trimming tree's, I thought I had enough cover. But a mini van went by and I could here it rapidly slow down, so I put on the tan shorts I had near by and continued trimming. Five minuets later a sheriff drove by at about 2 MPH I made sure he saw me as I waved, he then accelerated away ;-) So you might want to add some boards to your fence. Better safe than sorry.
I have to agree... add some more boards to the fence and provide yourself with desired privacy. If the gaps in the fence are there for your view, then you need to ask yourself what is more important. Glad it worked out for you this time.
As with many decisions in life there is a balance to strike. You could take the approach, 'it's my property I'll do what I like' which is understandable. Or you could take the approach 'I want to enjoy my property however I like but I want to do it hassle free'. I'd be finishing the fence, closing the gaps and enjoying the privacy.

Unless the slats are really far apart I have a hard time believing drivers would see anything. First they are moving, second, if they actually look I doubt theyd do much more than glance because they are driving and they arent going to focus on things they can barely see between slats. Id set some things up in your yard and drive by yourself and have others with the idea you are just driving and have no reason to look for anything.
When driving past, the gaps between the boards actually give a sort-of old fashioned jerky motion picture effect. A privacy fence is less private for people driving past than for people walking or standing. The driver may not notice, but the passengers certainly might. I found that out at a previous house when somebody mentioned that they could see me mowing the yard in the nude when they were driving past. Nobody ever complained, though, so I didn't let it worry me.
