Return to DiscussionsSeems like I get people staring at me anytime I go to beach or a pool to swim, When I get naked or have to wear a suit, (Rarely) people have mentioned how hairy I am, which I am, but not so noticeable now that I am going grey, but from front to back and head to toe, I guess I get it from my Mothers side which her 2 brothers were also very hairy, I think I was 9 when my Uncle and I were going into pool and he got naked to put on his swim suit and he looked like a ape. I also had a Italian neighbour tell me, if you want to be hairy eat cheese.. not sure that really was true, LOL. But also when in grade 7 there was a classmate Mike that was fully mature at that age he was a Bear then tall beefy and hairy all over just found it odd how early his body maturedbut I guess that is the age you start

I'm very hairy and I often see children giggling when they see me at public swimming pools, which doesn't bother me. I actually find that quite funny too.

Don't sweat the comments dude, no matter the trend there will always be a fair amount of men who prefer bot to shave anything, so people have surely seen it before.

I've always been a fan of hairy bears. I'm a smoothie from a long line of smoothies, so does that mean it's envy?

I also had my nephew laughing at me for being hairy "like an ape". I don't pay much attention to that... I actually like being hairy :)

I had a full back of hair at 15 and was shaving every two days at 14. It got a lot of attention at an all boys boarding school where I was definitely the most physically developed of my year and probably most of the guys older than me also. In men's oriented spaces I am more relaxed about my hair and recently I have tried to be more confident in my hirsute nature but still sometimes pause in taking off my shirt of wearing tank tops/singlets that expose my hairy shoulders or neck.
I guess I also hope that by being more open and proud of myself and being hairy in mixed spaces at the beach, gym, on hot days, etc. that maybe it can be a reassurance to younger guys who developed early or are on the hairy side that they aren't alone or a freak. I have learned to love my hair and the support of those who enjoy hirsute mena and/or are hirsute themselves certainly has helped me in that process.

I hit puberty early and I was shaving by 14. By the time I was in my 20s I had my wife using the hair removal creams on my back because I was rather self conscious about being hairy, especially back hair because so many people I knew talk about how "gross" it was. I did that for about 10 years before I finally had had enough. I was constantly getting ingrown hairs on my back and that hurt, so I decided to let the fur grow. I am definitely not an ape, nor the hairiest guy at the pool. But I definitely have a fur suit from head to toe front and back. My body hair isn't as dark as my head and facial hair, so it's not as visible until it's wet.

Sorry for the long reply,,,But i never shaved off my hair. My back is full of hair also. I do get people telling me that I should shave it but no, I am a man. Your supposed to be hairy,,I did use to shave my neck under hair line but then I would get ingrown hairs so ZI no longer do that. I also shave trim back the pubes to about 1 inchwish I lived where it was warm all year..and stay nakedTake care.
