Bar-hopping tour in Curacao
Return to DiscussionsI know the cruise is still almost 1.5 years out, but we just got back from a Southern Caribbean cruise and joined a group from Cruise Critic who did an evening (7 - 9:30) bar-hopping tour on Curacao with Irie Tours (www.irietours.com). Cost was $25/pp and included beer and rum punch on the bus, and a bottle of green rum from the first bar we stopped at (Netto Bar in Otrobanda). Other bars in the tour include Zanzibar (beach bar - we didn't get to this one due to a big traffic jam in Willemstad), a whole complex of bars at Mambo beach, and 27 (in Punda). Our cruise also stays in Curacao late, so if we get enough people (minimum of 25) we could do something similar.
Half Moon Cay was great since we got to be nude on the entire island. Amber Cove (Dominican Republic) also let us go nude in their pool complex. I floated the bar-hopping tour around when we talked to other passengers this year. Hopefully we can get the 25 needed to book the tour.
OK, we are back from our textile cruise (with a little nude diversion at Elia Beach in Mykonos). I'd like to start getting a list of people who would like to do the nighttime party bus. I'm bumping up this post, plus one on Cruise Critic and the Bare Harbor boards. We had a great time when we did this a year ago on a textile cruise.

The price for a 3-hour Bar Hopping Tour is $30 pp. and includes;
Beer, rum punch, soft drinks and bottled water during the tour
1 shot green rum at Netto Bar
First, we make stop at the oldest bar in town "Netto Bar, where you can try a shot of green rum.
After this stop, we drive to the East Side of the Island to Mambo Beach and Boulevard, where you can walk around and have a nice cocktail at one of the beach bars. After this we make our last stop in the Punda side of town in an area called Pietermaai, in this part of town there are different bars.
We can start with the tour around 6:30 pm.
The minimum for a Bar Hopping Tour is at least 25 pers. or more.
I asked about the maximum as well and didn't hear back on that. It does look like they raised their price by $5. And when they say 1 shot of green rum, what they really mean is they buy a bottle of green rum and the group finishes it.
Now we are up to 41 who said yes, plus 12 more who may be interested. We have enough to fill their larger bus (38) and add a second! I recognize several people who have accounts on more than one of the sites I've been organizing on, but I think there are no duplicates.
