Now I've seen everything.
Return to DiscussionsI too scratch my head at some of the young men showering with swim suits on in places where you can typically be naked; nude venues, nude beaches, locker rooms... not sure what generation taught these men and women to be so afraid to shower naked, as it's always been intended.
On another note, my wife and I and our close circle of nudist friends visit and gather here in Southern California at least once a year. We'll meet at a favorite resort for a week and catch up and renew long time friendships. We visit said resort this past Feb. The resort owner had talked to me about a proposed outdoor shower being planned for the resort. I/we had experienced outdoor showering at home for many years and at many clubs and resorts we'd visited. Outdoor showers are the best.
The resort owner's premise for the outdoor shower was to "ensure guests are clean before getting into the pool or hot tub/spa." I understood exactly what he was talking about. In plain, explicit language, he wanted to ensure guests had a clean butt after using the toilet before getting into the pool and spa. It's not only understandable but something many, many of us are well aware of and routinely take care of without having to be told... but not everyone does that and thinks they are always "clean."
The issue of being clean and getting clean, before getting into the pool or spa, arose when he proposed the outdoor shower being out in the open in full view of the entire pool deck. As we, our group of friends and new acquaintances began discussing this new addition to the resort, ALL the women said, "I'm not showering out there in front of everyone. I'm not putting on a show." I understood what they meant and it made sense that the areas of the body of which the owner was concerned about being clean, were areas that many were not comfortable cleaning with others looking on.
In the end, the resort owner listened to my suggestions to put the outdoor shower in an area of the pool deck that actually addressed both wants and needs; an outdoor shower with a speck of privacy for those that wanted to clean those areas of the body in question and do it without being stared at while doing so.
I've sat on the pool deck of our club and watched guests, members, residents get in the pool and hot tub without ever showering before getting in. There are signs everywhere but they either don't take a shower at all or dance around the shower spray and the cleansing waters never get to those areas that really need to be clean or ensure that they're clean.
A lot of the youth these days do not want to be seen naked (unless they are a real nudist). I never understood why they wear boxers under their swim trunks but both my boys do. As for the showering, all the showers at Cypress Cove Nudist resort or outside and pretty much in plain sight. I guess there is a row of plants or something maybe between them and the pools which there are two. Even at the campsite where I pitch my tent they have a couple. Was using one the last time I was there with a woman using the one right next to me and she was actually shaving her genitals as we had a conversation. No problem. As for for the bottom being clean I am a real stickler for making sure I'm clean back there. What would be great is if they had bidets. Used one in Europe and it was awesome.

I have had this happen at our club as well, a few times. I usually tidy up my pubic area, penis and scrotum at least once during our stay at the club or resorts we visit. I've also tidied up my wife's pubic and vaginal area at the coed gang showers at the club and resorts. That doesn't seem to be a big deal with many of those that are regulars at clubs or resorts.
Cleaning ones crotch and anal area seems to be that one area that people get a little weird about and want some privacy while doing it. Most times, it's pretty dang easy. Almost every club or resort we've visited and used the coed gang showers have at least one shower head that is hand held and you can use that as a hand held bidet.
I hate getting too descriptive but I almost always use the bathroom before I shower. Using toilet paper and wipes, I ensure I'm pretty darn clean after I'm done and I still use the showers before getting into the pools and spas. It's no different than ensuring you're clean any time you sit on your towel. Neither of us would want to be embarrassed by leaving a tell tale trace that we weren't clean after using the toilet.
Though not a bidet, there are toilet seats that have warm water sprays and various strengths of the stream and positions of the stream that sell on Amazon and they had some at Costco for a while. I remember the first time we encountered these at a Sheraton Hotel in Waikiki. All our friends used them in our hotel rooms and when we all got back, we all ordered them online. Costco ran out!!!! They are great and cut down on our toilet paper use. Toilet paper is only used to pat and dry the area after being clean by warm water jets! Very nice feature to our bathrooms!

I'm with you Andydi, When going #2 I always wipe until I'm completely clean. The sink is within arms reach so just wet the tp and clean until it's gone. When wearing shorts I am usually commando and don't want to mess them up if i can help it.
The last time I was at Cypress Cove I was playing pickle ball and one of the older men got up from his seat and there was a big brown spot on his towel. Kinda grossed me out.
As for the toilet seat bidets I bought one from home depot that fits under the seat but never ended up installing it. Since we are putting our house on the market in a couple of weeks (hopefully ) we opted not to install it which required hooking up to the hot water line under the sink and my wife nixed the idea. Next house we build will have a bidet.

The bidet toilet seats we installed required electrical outlets. Luckily, there were electrical outlets directly on the other side of the toilet in an adjacent room or closet. The heating element in the toilet seat warms the water spray. They work great and I love it more than my wife does, although she does say it's much cleaner and because we're both shaved, there's no more small pieces of tp residue left on the backside or on the floor. But wipes usually took care of that. There's just less paper product going down the drain and less likelihood of having a plumber out in a few years to snake out the pipes!
I can tell you that it's happened only once, very early in our social nudist venture, that I left a small and barely noticeable trace that I wasn't as proficient completing the paperwork after using the bathroom. THAT will never happen again! I made sure the only person to possibly notice was my wife! Visit the bathroom to thoroughly finish the task and a new towel! :DDD
Over the weekend at the club I walked in on a conversation a women talking to her about showering outdoors. This lady just had a new outdoor shower put in at her place. I get why she would ask Luann about it seeings our lot is at a road intersection and quite open and quizzed her on that. Luann gave her point of view that everyone has already seen you naked so what's it matter? Well it evidently it does matter to that particular member as her new shower was put in and has privacy. Now mind you they are both at the pool naked. All Rock can do is scratch his head and roll with it. :)

I'll try and be descriptive and discreet. :DDD
Di can be a little tentative when going about showering her entire body in a nudist public environment. When cleaning her vaginal/pubic area, her crotch, her anal area and butt crack, she doesn't want to put on a show for anyone while she's doing that. She's fine with all this in our backyard or at the outdoor shower buildings at the club but now that I think of it, those showers aren't really outside. They are more shower rooms with sliding glass doors. It's just something about cleaning, touching, rubbing, soaping up boobs, vagina, crotch, anal area and butt crack that gives them pause. My thoughts, anyway. ;-)
She'd be fine having a rinse off shower next to our motorhome but probably wouldn't get into cleaning all those more intimate parts out in the open. We've parked our RV right next to the road and intersection that leads up to the rec hall and pool area. Lots of traffic there and the last time she took a rinse off shower during our last visit, we probably had 3 outta 4 cars slowly drive by (driven by guys). The 3 guys alone had a nice long stare and were watching Di more than the road ahead. The 4th car... his wife was in the car! :DDD I think you get my drift and I can understand why some women may not want to get into their complete normal shower routine out in the open with people watching.
By the way, since that time and since I got our outdoor shower on the motorhome fixed, Di has stated that she'd prefer we got a site away from the road so she could take a complete shower outside or our motorhome at the club. ;D She's really looking forward to using the poly pad we got! ;D
