Beach Nudists.
Tell the group what nude beach you go to, where the location is, how often do you go, and what you like and don't like about it. Or tell us whatever the hell is on your mind lol. I put this group together to find out what beaches around the world are fun to go to in case people are traveling and wondering what a particular beach is like.
Who bares (first) wins
Return to DiscussionsThere is an article in H&E on being the first nudist on the beach. It is set in Portugal, where I spend a lot of time on nude-friendly beaches. I have a list of those beaches from www.portugalnaturista.com/naturism/beaches. It lists about 60 nude beaches, most of which are informal. When my friends and I go on one of these beaches we may well be the first to strip off. We are not put off by the swimwear clad beachgoers around us. And, as in the article, we find that once we have set the example others are happy to get naked too. They just didn't have the confidence to be the first.
On my last holiday with BN we were taken to a well known nude-friendly beach in Mallorca. It was packed by textiles. Others in the BN group had surveyed the beach and declared it to be textile only. But it is well known to be nude tolerant. So my friend and I found a spot and stripped off. We were told that everyone else was going and it was time to leave. So we packed up, covered up and made to go. Then, at the last minute, the tour guide asked at a bar. Yes it was OK to get naked. So the group stripped off right next to the bar for some sun bathing and skinny dipping. We could not have picked a more public spot. There was no adverse reaction and a girl came from the bar to take our photos. What got me was that a fellow nudist called me an exhibitionist for getting naked on that beach. But all I was doing was asserting my right to be naked, just as in that H&Earticle. Itwould beso easy to give in and be pushed off the few places where we can do that!
I get that some people are less outgoing than others, but there do seem to be quite a lot of timid nudists around sometimes. If a beach is known as being nude friendly and there are only textiles visible on arrival I also have no problem with being the first obvious nudist that day. I also find it interesting how others will then join us by getting naked too. Sure, some may be newcomers to that beach and not want to offend anyone but I've seen nudists at local beaches wait until more outgoing nudists turn up and then they get naked after someone else has led the way.
I hope that nudists continue to assert their rights to be nude in public at places where it is accepted, too many nudist places have been lost in recent times, it would be a great shame to lose more through textiles taking over nudist places. I have no problem as a nudist with sharing places in a clothing optional way (other than not understanding those who are not naked when they can be), I don't want to find nudism being driven out of any more places we've enjoyed the freedoms that only nudism brings.
