Beach Nudists.
Tell the group what nude beach you go to, where the location is, how often do you go, and what you like and don't like about it. Or tell us whatever the hell is on your mind lol. I put this group together to find out what beaches around the world are fun to go to in case people are traveling and wondering what a particular beach is like.
Cape Cod Nude Beach
Return to DiscussionsI had wanted to find a nude beach for a long time. Last year we
moved to Cape Cod. Earlier this year I went online and learned to
my surprise and delightthat I was living about 20 miles from
one. There is a 1 mile stretch of beach in the town of Truro, MA
located between Longnook Beach to the north, and Ballston Beach to
the south. I have been approaching the beach from Longnook Beach;
it is less crowded . You have to climb
down a sand dune to get to the beach, then turn right and walk 1/2
mile to the nude section. The beach is absolutely beautiful. There
is a large sand dune behind the beach. Off the shore, you can see
seals swimming by. The people there are friendly and
respectful. The beach is 1 mile wide and is never crowded, so
you can be discrete and off by yourself if you want.
If you have problems climbing up and down steep
hills you should approach the nude beach from Ballston Beach in the
south which is also a beautiful. It is a little larger and more
crowded but is more flat and easier to walk to and from the nude
section. There are some restrictions to this
nude beach. Just like other beaches on Cape Cod, its parking is
managed by the town. During the tourist season, from the 3rd Sat.
in June to Labor Day, you need a residents sticker on your car to
park from 10 AM to 4 PM. Visitors can buy a temporary pass
from the Clerks office. I get around that by going after 4 PM
when most of the tourists have left and more parking spots are
available. It is still warm enough on the beach and in the
water to enjoy after 4 PM. There are also bike racks for those to
ride their bicycles; they don't need parking
stickers. There is another nude beach north of
Truro in the town of Provincetown; Herring Cove Beach. I have not
gone there yet but I have looked it up online. It only costs $10 to
park there. If you are over 60 you can get a lifetime pass for
there and throughout the National Park Service for life. The town
of Provincetown voted to allow nude sunbathing. However the beach
falls under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service which
does not allow nudity on the beach. Comments from other beachgoers
have said that if you see a park ranger approaching on foot or by
ATV, cover up and wait for him to go. Otherwise you could get a
ticket and have to pay a fine. Overall I think
any visitor will come away with a positive experience from any of
the Cape Cod beaches, nude or otherwise.
I was able to make nude use of Herring Cove Beach a few years ago. I walked a ways left from the parking lot and had no problems at all. There were even topless women very close to the parking lot. I went early in the morning two different days. there were quite a few nudists earlier, but as the beach became more crowded more people were wearing swimsuits. I did not go into the dunes. I don't remember seeing a ranger either day I was there.
My wife and I have visited this beach! It was several years
ago. We were on a tour and found out about this beach from
someof the locals while buying souvenirs. I bought a t shirt
with a nudist saying on it and said to the shop ... be nice to find
a nude beach close by to visit. He was the one that
toldus about it. When wegot to the
beach, we saw a couple that just seemed to be going where we were
going and we stopped them and asked if they were aware of a
clothingoptional beach in the area and they said, "yup,
that's where we're going, just follow us!"
Theywent in a different direction than we did.
We set up our chairs and looked around and saw many others
nude. We were approached by a gentleman that asked if it was our
first time there. When we replied that is was indeed our first time
there, he informed us that a ranger on an ATV would be making two
passes, one going one direction and then back again. He said that
"nudists on down the line will alert you when he's coming and all
you need do is pass the word down the beach and cover up with a
towel when he passes." The ranger did in fact
pass us twice and we just covered up with a towel over my lap and
my wife slipped on a sun shirt. He waved, drove passed
and except for a brief moment with each pass, we were naked and
enjoyed the entire day at this beach!
I have been going to Longnook Beach most of my life and find it to be a great beach. Everything you said was spot on. It is also nice that you can leave your shoes at the top of the dune at the beginning of the path and return hours later to find them where you left them. There is a great sense of community there. When you see the seals, you must beware of swimming in the ocean too deep because that is a sign that there are Great White Sharks around. Sometimes when you see a small plane circling the area and a boat running up and down the shoreline, they are tracking the sharks and sometimes trying to tag them.
I also have frequented Herring Cove for many years and always go nude there. The warning system has been in place for years but also during the summer the rangers may be patroling on foot and come out of the dunes. If you are strolling the beach or in the water, I would recommend just having a small suite in your hands or close by to cover up until the reangers have patroled. Later on in the season you do not have to travel as far up the beach to go nude. These are two beautiful unspoiled beaches which hopefully will always continue the clothing optional tradition.
Stay naked,
Jamnat
