Beach Nudists.

Tell the group what nude beach you go to, where the location is, how often do you go, and what you like and don't like about it. Or tell us whatever the hell is on your mind lol. I put this group together to find out what beaches around the world are fun to go to in case people are traveling and wondering what a particular beach is like.

Playalinda Beach Status

We are planning to be in central Florida next week and would go to Playalinda Beach if the weather cooperates. We visited there a few years ago and found a sign at the last parking area that stated that nudity was prohibited. Has anyone visited recently and what is the story? I really don't need a ticket for public indecency.

Actually, county ordinances do apply, which is why Brevard County attempted to enforce them, but Volusia County, where Apollo is, did not have such an ordinance. In any case, the signs were removed some time ago, and no one has been harassed for being nude for many years. So, enjoy yourself and don't worry.

It is nude at north of 12 also!! And Apollo is nude when busy from 3 south! Busy last weekend for the 40th anniversary of it being a National Seashore!!

I go to Playalinda occasionally. It is only about 15 miles from where I live. Nudity is not prohibited in National Parks, however local nudity ordinances still apply. At one time, the Brevard and Volusia county sheriff departments would periodically troll the beaches (Apollo and Playalinda) for nudists. Citations were issued. This is no longer the case. The police may be summoned however if someone reports lewd behavior on the beach.

Nudity is technically illegal in Brevard County, but it is federally owned land so the county has no jurisdiction. One time I was there some park rangers came by on quad bikes, they didn't hassle anyone. One group of them even stopped to pass us our volleyball that got away from us.

Actually, the county can enforce its ordinances on federal land, but has chosen not to enforce its anti-nudity law for many years. So go and enjoy!

Thinking of going on May 8 and 9th. Is there a good place to stay the night near there? I guess there is camping in the park? Might try that if not too hot.

No, there is no overnight camping. You have to be out by 6 p.m. There are some small motels on U.S. 1, about 20 min. from the beach. Or, some nicer ones near I-95 and State Rt. 50, about a half hour from the beach. Have fun.

There are overnight campsites in the back country accessible by kayak or canoe (rentals available). Also, there are two camping areas on Apollo Beach. Technically, Apollo Beach isn't Playalinda Beach but it's part of the same stretch of ocean in the Cape Canaveral National Seashore.
Check the Cape Canaveral National Seashore website for more details.

Thanks for the info guys. I knew about camping at Apollo. Thought Playalinda might have the same.
