Return to DiscussionsBecause of my weight, I'm way too self-conscious to just wear shorts when I shirt is not required. But if nudity is permitted, I'm not even slightly or vaguely self-conscious about being totally nude.
I think the reason for that is the textile world is so very concerned about appearance -- that's where I'd be if I had to wear shorts. But the nudist/naturist world is not concerned at all.
I keep the same t-shirt and shorts either in my car or near the door to the garage. I wear them over and over again until I finally think maybe I should wash them. Keep in mind that they are rarely worn for more than an hour or two at a time and only for doing "clean" things like grocery shopping or running other errands. And rarely more than once a week.
If I'm doing something like cutting firewood or anything "dirty" I wear a different set and then wash those.
I'm not likely to discard any more of my clothing because I figure I'll need them eventually.
I think clothes can actually make you look heavier depending how they fit. I do agree nudist are less likely to worry about appearance .
