Why so many blank profiles

I had a look through around 15 pages of profiles, at least 3/4 was blank profiles, no pics . I see it as shady , and question if there real profiles. Dont see the point in completely private profiles either .

I have no idea why it isn't compulsory to have a profile pic. Too many fake profiles on here and still getting profiles promoting other sites.
