Black Nudist
Celebrating Nudism in the Minority Community
Why less blacks in this group?
Return to DiscussionsI was just going through this group and I noticed more people if other races than black. I'm not racist or anything, but I thought that group for people of certain races were just for people of that certain race.
I know that some people enjoy seeing naked black people because there aren't as many black nudists than other types, but I've hardly met any black nudists in this group.
As a younger member of the African American community, I feel like there are a lot of things that aren't socially acceptable. I wonder how many black friends I'd have if I said I enjoy being naked and hanging out with other naked people.
So far, I haven't really met that many black nudists, much less any young one. I just happened to accidentally walk into this lifestyle and I haven't told any of my friends.
But I feel that there aren't enough black people to spread the word around. This group would make sense if there were actually black people here to talk to and share experiences with each other.

Well we do exist. I was affiliated with a local naturist group that was 96% black. I believe we were also the only naturist group of color under American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR). Over the years, I have met other black naturists through on-line groups such as the now defunct Black Soul Nudists and Blksun. I've meet black naturists at various beaches and occasionally at a naturist resort who are not part of groups.Yes, very few are raised as nudists, but I find those who have been doing it for 15 years or more.
IMHO, "if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem".
orangelinedevil, at least online here, you put up barriors to people connecting with you. Your profile is a large list of requirements and restrictions to people contacting you. And if the same list were applied to you, you would be rejected by other users as well.
While there are users who aren't True Nudists who sign up on this site many make it clear that their intentions have little to do with social nudism. But frankly, you come across looking like such a person in your profile. So I'm not too surprised you haven't met anyone if that's how you are on other sites or in real life as well.

There are quite a few people that don't want to be social and want to see pics. I have actually met a few older men and gay men who turned out to be nice guys because they sent a message trying to start a conversation. I'm not prejudice and a few men have sent me messages saying they've read why I posted and just want to say hi. Those are the type of people I want to meet. Not someone with no picture and an empty profile.
And I do think I have a rather diverse group of friends.

Speaking from my personal experiences, I think part of the issue is that within the black community nakedness is looked upon something that is meant to be enjoyed in private. Growing up I never met any blacks who enjoyed being nude for the sheer pleasure of it and the only people I encountered who did were caucasian. when I was first introduced to nudism I was often the only black person in many social activities. I was open about my being a naturist to my friends, and when announced most recoiled in horror," you walk around naked?" " why?" when I said why not and I enjoy it, it was as if I was from outer space lol. Since moving to the UK, I've attended many social functions where I've seen more naked black men/women still not large numbers but they are out there. Interestingly enough, the other black naturists I've encountered are primarily of caribean and african descent. It makes me wonder if it's a cultural thing, hmm perhaps yes perhaps not. I think if we want to see more of us enjoying naturism we need to be open about who were are as naturists and not feeling ashamed to be so. I believe what you'll find is that others want to enjoy the freedom also and just need someone to share it with, to educate them, and hold their hand and I think we'll soon see more black nudists about. Just my two cents.
