More permanent than body paint but not a lifelong commitment. Henna is a good way of finding out if you want a tattoo and experimenting with some designs. Some, like those used in Indian weddings, are very skilfully done.
It is great when tattoos and piercings work together - the one enhancing the other. I've seen examples where an embedded jewel adds sparkle to a tat. And, as in this case, a tat can draw attention to a piercing.
