Either and both are fine as long as it's consensual. Intimate physical contact between men (regardless of sexual orientation) can be so masculine, comforting and bonding. It can also be highly erotic, depending on the situation and the desire of the men involved.

I really think that level of contact is about the individuals. Kissing, oral, or full sexual contact,, it's all about the people involved. And change with what is acceptable can change.

"appropriate" is in the eye of the beholder. I for one am no stranger to physical encounters with other like-minded men, but I don't have any desire to kiss. I also agree with what another has said on that I don't think I'd be as comfortable partaking in activities like these with someone who had or was harboring romantic inclinations towards me.
But, that's me. Others will feel different.

I think a bromance should remain a relationship with another bro/buddy that is more platonic. Being naked together, cuddling, maybe light kissing, snuggling etc. cool. Maybe even jack off together. But anything further than that crosses the line into a sex buddy or romantic buddy IMO.

Regardless of the Dictionary definition.
A bromance can be whatever you want it to be, it can be as intimate as you both want it to be, not everything is defined by it's designated ideal. It does not matter as long as it's what you both want and need from that relationship. Other peoples ideas of what a bromance is, do not come into it.

As long as it's what you both want and need from the relationship, then who is to say if it's wrong or right ! If you are fulfilling a need from both partners, then it's up to you both how far you go with your bromance relationship, no one else.
